Atleast Jasso uses her pea-sized brain in her acting , this guy does nothing. All of Senior Virks/Khushveer's brains was given to Mahi(70%) and Fateh(30%) so Amrik was transferred the Gurpreet genes which have Nimmo Maachi's influence. Plus bachpan mein definitely sir pe gira tha.

I think your slap theory is the upper part that's working whereas underneath this slap theory cover, in my opinion, lies the foundation of his misogynistic views. When he opposed Mahi openly on making her shut up for speaking up for Tejo, his misogynistic views came out. They absolutely can't be justified in the name of anger. He not only displayed a "why care for wife" attitude but also "using marriage to get rid of his sister who is opposing his authority as her elder brother". Everyone knows that the condition for marriage was a Canadian job, which clearly Fateh failed to keep and thus could not fulfill his "provider" role. So for him, Fateh failed to keep his promise thus Jasmine backing out was only logical since Fateh could not give her a luxurious lifestyle anymore.

Also, Had he been actually supportive of Tejo doing a job, since it clearly has no impact on his life, he would have preferred to stay neutral instead of revolting just because of his dislike. Because when it comes to our own principles, we tend to speak up however some people may not show their support in fear of benefitting their enemy so Amrik had the choice to just stay shut instead of blindly opposing her.

And again like you said, Tejo is someone he knows is intelligent and smart. The fooling and utterly dumb things that Jasmine would have participated in along with him and because of love Fateh too would have let them go, he knows Tejo wouldn't allow, and considering Fateh's "trust and respect" equation with Tejo, Fateh would be convinced by Tejo and Amrik wouldn't have fun anymore. I think he's quite self-aware in this aspect that his "lafandargiri" won't be working in her presence so he's on full-on defense mode while he still has a chance (in his opinion).

And why get her married at all? Clearly she does not hv the maturity to sustain a marriage. She has that muft ka khao aur udhao attitude. I would really appreciate that they show her learn a few lessons, grow wise, independent and hv some shame plz. Her character has the most potential in the show to create a great storyline. A character graph that would be a learning lesson and model for young girls. Set an example for your young viewers ( eg Jasfa fans) thodi akal thikane aayegi.

And that Amrik is in no position to get married. He too is still in college. Let him stand on his own two feet. Ghar pe nithalle baitha hai. Is he even going to college these days? Whatever, loser needs to grow up.

I agree with every word of yours. In fact, I also felt that Jasmine's character was the one with the most potential to develop and her character's development could have surely highlighted the misconceptions families like the Sandhus have and they would have even inspired such "spoilt brats" that they can still turn things in their favor if they try and their delusional families would have received a harsh reality check. But like we all know they showed the typical ITV jealousy turned obsession track.
