Done with Deewangi finally😆
I have a lot to say☺️ but first off, Bye Bye Sultan Durrani - you were an enigma to watch! I am a bit jaded by the forced abortion/ miscarriage scene, but I have to applaud Danish Taimoor for making a male character outright own the show..in a female centric drama characterization industry. Even after all the crazy things Sultan does..including some very problematic ones like possible murders and the abortion - that is one blot I am not able to get over from..you still sympathize with him at the end of it all..and that has to be credited to absolutely phenomenal performance from Danish..who makes Sultan an iconic character, even though the writer made him so damn unlikeable eventually. I dont think literally anybody cared about Nageen-Haroon etc..I just am so disappointed with how things panned in the last 2 episodes..like the writer just wanted to make Sultan a villain..there could have been a more balanced end to the show..
Amongst the good things - I think I liked how they tried to incorporate corporate culture, political backdrop and some important social issues..I think the first 14-15 episodes of this show are absolutely fab- and then the writer probably was given the mandate that lets make this a saas bahu saga lol..or somebody else wrote the remaining half of this show lol....total butchery happened after the revenge track and there is wayy too much inspiration taken from Darr/ Anjaam or whatever they thought was befitting to tear apart Sultan's character
He was a deeply troubled man who was probably looking at Nageen as his last resort to happiness..and unfortunately just completely lost control over his actions and mind..because he was so adamant that Nageen was the only one who could bring peace, love and stability in his life..if only he could get over her..sigh!..a lot of what he does towards the end of the show is so questionnable and horrible, but yet I feel very sorry for him and his fate..he was meant for bigger things 💔

Having said that, this show was all about his deewangi..I feel like there was so much more potential to his story.. He did lose everything, including his life in his deewangi..sigh!
In any case, I think Sultan Durrani tops Sujal also in terms of my favourite bad boy..the aura, the presence..everything was so perfect and desirable lol.
Awww I know exactly how you feel! Sultan Durrani is so damn iconic, and he'll rightly remain so. Absolutely agree with you on the way a male character made a mark in a female dominated industry.
Regarding the abortion and murders, I always felt it was out of character. The writer tried to turn him into a full-fledged villain and I say try because people like you and I still loved him over every other character, even the positive good ones. I think no one cared about Nageen and Haroon 😆 So you're not alone 😆 But I do get a feeling Nageen would have never been happy in that family, even after Sultan's death. Her MIL only treated her well if things went right. If anything, they would find a way to bring up Sultan again and again. Then she'd know what he meant by "yeh job tumhare status ka nahi hai, main tumhe aasmaan mein le jaana chahta hoon!"
The story has been inspired from Anjaam only, like Nageen being a bus hostess instead of an air hostess. But in Anjaam, within the first 10 minutes it was established Vijay is a psychopath, when he burns his car and walks away with no remorse.
I always felt the first 12 episodes were excellent, right up till Sultan's wedding. Post that, they even did a good job showing Sultans frustrations regarding Narmeen's childish behaviour. But Nageen's track was not well-written. Of course the writers went haywire after that, but Sultan's "return" from episode 24 was brilliantly executed by Danish.
The scenes were Sultan comes over to Haroon's house for dinner (hayee that wink ☺️😉) and then the dominance in his voice when he talks to Nageen on the phone...remember how he tells her "pata hai main sirf tumhara hoon, aur tumhara hi rahunga" I am not married, not even dating, but after hearing Sultan say that I was ready to leave my non-existent husband 🤣 Idk how Nageen resisted 😆
Oou then scene where Nageen goes to Sultan's house for dinner, damn his expressions at the dinner table! ☺️☺️☺️ And finally the scene when he comes over to meet Nageen alone to gift her Haroon's flat, I nearly fainted when Sultan walks in, his eyes are full of madness and desire and he exhales the vape smoke...frack...how am I supposed to hate a total snacc?!! 🤣🤣
Btw these were the scenes I was waiting for you to watch and let me know what you thought of them 😆
Nageen was what Sultan thought his last resort. But I always felt no one understood him and neither was anyone good enough for him. Its not easy for a person who has lived in a dysfunctional environment to live normally. It was important for Sultan's life partner to know how stupid his family is in order to give him the life he deserved. Sultan was a lonely man, you are absolutely right. Its amazing how we think the same 😆
I don't the makers expected Sultan to be so loved! So in order to make Nageen and Haroon endgame, they decided to butcher up his character. That way they could avoid fan backlash and justify the ending...well joke's on them because the audience still discusses and loves Sultan Durrani
There is an Indian YouTube reaction channel and even the man reacting was focussed on Sultan 😆 I was like, yeah bruh I get it, me too 😆
Sultan is the ultimate bad boy. There were no intimate or shirtless scenes, yet he managed to give us the "feels". I won't elaborate more because it might cross PG-13 😉☺️
A lot of the credit goes to Danish, he's the only one who could've pull it off. With his charm, charisma, allure, personality, attractiveness and incredibly good looks. 👏
