If you think from veers point of view, he didn't know about the wedding, his so called mom and sister called him "paraya" at the engagement and then they are not trusting his words being the elder son of the house...they mistreated his wife and asked her to leave.

Any sane person would not want to attend and enjoy the wedding in these circumstances. He's atleadt trying to find Jai's truth.

If they would have shown veer attending the functions and romancing his wife without worrying about his sister's life...that would be too out of character for Veer.
