Yes but you are comparing that situation with this one without considering other variables that played their part in ahaan believing riya even after Riya's initial lies. He has grown up with a set of values that doesnt let him believe that a girl can lie about something so huge. Yes riya and her parents lied during the marriage drama but that lie was small compared to the one riya is telling now and this one has shaken ahaan to his core. Also, the way riya presented and told this lie is pretty good. Ahaan has never been manipulative or cunning or shrewd when it comes to his family or people he cares about so they manipulate him so easily. Anyways coming back to asking proof from riya doesn't occur to him as he simply can't fathom that a girl can lie about this. The guy is surrounded by liars and manipulators who constantly manipulate, lie and use him and yet he didn't lose his ability to trust and love. So despite his flaws, he has a good heart and definitely scope to improve. He just needs to get away from people like riya and dadi after seeing them for who they are. He is yet to face some earth shattering truths about dadi, riya and savitri which will bring him pain, feeling of betrayal and regret for lost time. Anyways I think I went a little off track here.

Its not being stupid, its just being trusting and too rooted in his values. Regardless of his flaws, you have to have seen it by now, ahaan is just overtly trusting of people he cares about. Even if he was not in love with riya, he still cared for her also he still has that guilt in him about leaving riya after 2 years.

Yes but you can easily think that as a desperate move by riya to not lose ahaan after investing 2 years in a relationship. It can viewed by someone who doesn't know riya's real face as a move by a desperate girl and despite it being so wrong morally, it still can be seen as a move by her where she was not intentionally trying to hurt ahaan. Lying about pregnancy is a whole another thing. That is not criminal but from a moral standpoint it is worse and quite disgusting to lie about it. A baby is life changing for the girl as well as a guy and for ahaan, it is even worse as thanks to his messed up history related to his parents, he is not just going to be able to move on from the baby. So here riya has used something like pregnancy (which is usually a positive, joyous and life changing event) for her own motives and degraded it. If you don't understand how big this is ahaan even after watching him drunk, I don't know how else to explain to you. these two things are so different for ahaan as the pregnancy news have shaken him to his core as it has opened his age old wounds and he is also afraid to lose ishqi. His past related to his parents and his own values makes this lie much worse for ahaan.
