These kinds of people are so common, I can say 80% people in my family are like these including my male cousins who are very well educated. In my family education is given utmost importance and all girls are independent, educated and doing very well. And still many of my male cousins have this mentality of "gharelu ladki" "housewife hi chahiye", khandani chahiye" etc etc. They don't say anything to us as we shut them up and there is sibling bond as well but then they sometimes unknowingly pass sexist comments. They don't even realize how wrong it is. Their criteria to find girl for marriage is again sexist and some expectations like khana banaye, ghar sambhale, job nai kare etc etc.

One would find it very contrasting in my family where girls are so highly educated, liberal, taking their own decisions but boys are still stuck in that mentality.

I think his father was same!

Mayank is Ahaan's childhood/family friend. Ahaan's family seems to know Mayank's parents for long time. Mayank never liked Ishqi. He was just putting up a facade. In the next episode itself, it will be cleared. He did not want to marry Ishqi that's why he went to her house to encourage her to delay it.
