Perhaps, she didn't want her young son to see the cemetery and do death rituals. It would have been too much for the young boy too take in.

And to think the reason cited for forbidding women from doing the last rites is because they are sensitive and faint hearted and right off the bat they very well allow the son even if he was 10 year old ,full rights to do the rites.😕

So glad she was able to defy the norms and make a decision for herself and kudos to the people around her who supported her and gave her strength to do it! 👏
