This redemption track has been extremely statisfying especially with how they ended it by having him ready to sacrifice his self respect but still keeping his attitude intact!! There couldnt have been a greater impact for his character esp given that the magnitude of his actions affected her character and character only. I am also glad that they didnt go down the route of him saving her life from some danger and had him let off the hook.
Also i loved the touch of having him apologize for what he had done to her again when he hands over the ticket.

Exactly what I wanted to say. He had already caused enough damage and anything else would have made his character irredeemable and yes totally agreed on that life saving wali baat it’s so cliche and moreover it’s not enough it never is. Apology is needed and genuine efforts should be made or it just seems illogical and that is what I loved about Raghav, he did everything absolutely everything to give back what he took from her though yeh alag baat hai ki Pallavi realised ki it’s not worth it but he gave it his best shot.

I have been wanting to ask your name for a while now but we get caught up in discussions so I missed it few times.. absolutely love reading your views..Jean's..Libran20 though she is MIA now..Canuck's, Bluejayfire's, Viewpoint's..m sure Im missing out on some of the others.. Its become a routine now, to watch the episode and read everyone's take on the scenes..😆 Funny, how a show can bring all of us together, people from across the globe with a common interest..

Call me umz 🤗 I have a tendency to go MIA from IF sometimes so fair warning if I am not around to discuss.

Love love love the discussions here. Everyone has such thought provoking opinions and interpretations to convey. Gives you another perspective on the scenes and truly elevates the show even more. On top of that it seems like many of us have similar tastes in shows (NBT, KHKT etc.) so it has become familiar ground. Even when I miss pages upon pages due to time zone differences, I drop in to read what I missed and I'll be like holy, I didn't even think about that!

It's so rare to come across an ITV show with such compelling leads especially those that go against the grain of your typical ITV leads; a FL who continues to go from strength to strength and a nuanced ML who on the outside seems like your usual AYM but in fact has so many layers. Plus, the show has managed to avoid so many cliché romance scenes or kept them to a bare minimum (trip, catch etc.) and instead has used intimate actions/conversations to showcase the changing dynamics. Reminds me of the tricks that Pakistani dramas use - wonder if Sikcand watches them and has taken some inspiration...

@bold, I think so too, and yes he wants to be a husband first. The role is so important to him because I guess somewhere in his mind, he knows/feels marriage is forever and that gives him the framework within which he can ensure she will always be in his life. Amma and Keerti are his blood relations so no matter how many arguments or issues they have, they will always be connected to him in some way. With Pallavi there is no such guarantee. Also, he is fully aware how tumultuous things have been between them since day 1 and he wants to ensure that by having the right to be her husband he gains some permanence in her life. Even when he was trying to stop her going to Kolhapur, he gave her all the rights of a wife and didn't expect anything from her but now he wants her to fully accept him as her husband, which is why that term 'mere pati' triggers these emotions in him now. That's why the haq jataana makes him so happy and proud, because people only do it with those they consider their apna.

Oh that highway scene, he had gone there hellbent on scaring her but the way he looked into her eyes, something stirred in him and he was never the same again. He bent his rules for her the first time and has been doing so ever since. 😉

I am so loving the nuances in the writing. smiley27

@bold: I believe its the “what are your dreams” conversation that was the starting point i think.

He was really being a husband in an arranged marriage situation by asking her what are three things she would like to do before her death. Trust me its a great starter In an arranged marriage when a husband asks his wife about her dreams...

Pallavi goes all about ayi, baba, nikhil. And then he goes onto rephrase by asking her what pallavi wants and not deshmukh. Pallavi starts talking about a pahadi house , the simple pleasures of living with ayi, baba and nikhil.. it was there that i felt he wanted to belong to her.. be a part of her small world, her family, her husband..He really got a home wali feeling the way she spoke that he ends up voicing out his feelings with vat savitri vrat, husband, etc and the “tum hi ho “ instrumental beautifully portrayed his wistfulness

Yeah, does your boss' boss watch this show? If so, it would have been hilarious if they got the reference had you slipped up.

Yup, these shows go overboard with the hate marriages, and then it just becomes something that leaves you feeling bitter even when the couple is on good terms.

I really don't think he watches this show. He's more of a webshows and high brow content only kinda guy- he'd probably mock me endlessly and call me an auntie ji forever if he found out I watch any desi show 😂😂

I think he wanted to from the moment he decided to go D house. Remember how he was so confident that not only would he earn their forgiveness on Pallavi's behalf but that they would come to love him too? Sanki repeatedly rejecting him as damaad used to bother him. Perhaps you're right, it's in that conversation with Pallavi that he was finally able to articulate it. One of the best scenes between them, in my opinion.

I still feel he's in the 'I want to be your husband' mode. Which is why when the Mandaar track comes up, this term would be quite contententious, i.e. who does Pallavi really consider her husband, dos her loyalties still lie with the memories of Mandaar (why shouldn't it, after all?) but at the cost of her future with Raghav or does she find a way to have place for both in her heart? At this stage no one knows, but I suspect that's what they want to explore next. Even if she never fell in love with Mandaar, she has a lot of fondness and respect for him, his thinking, and his promises. She's the kind of woman to cherish such things so it won't be easy for her to let go, and I don't think she should be forced to either. Raghav should make his own place in her heart not try to replace Mandaar.

Re. The promo.. i am excited because finally pallavi’s emotions will be explored. For a greater part of the show, she has been a closed book. This track is going to be the perfect foil to open her up..

Am interested to know if pallavi will be in turmoil with respect to raghav on behalf of aai/baba or herself?? Cuz she said that day that she didnt know how to react to her loss. And also her loss was bigger or aayi/baba’s? . did she downplay her emotions like always and give precedence to aai / baba? How much of a wife to mandaar did she consider herself at an emotional level? It was a promise that mandaar and pallavi made to each other to look after each others family. Pallavi kept her promise only for mandaar or because she got attached to aayi/baba? Was mandaar just an accidental entity that gave her a family ?
In mandaar ‘s case, her loyalties will lie with the deshmukh family. She stood against this family when her baba wronged raghav and she will stand for the family against raghav if she believes raghav wronged them.

If raghav is even remotely involved in mandaar’s death, i dont see a future for raghav-pallavi.. i mean why should pallavi unite with her second husband when he is to be held responsible for her first husband’s death? He was responsible for her widowhood. There can be no forgiveness from aai-baba as well.

actually there was this movie tum bin that explored this same track but there the guy who accidentally caused his death immediately came to help the family and the girl in crisis. Here raghav , if he is even responsible , didnt even bother. So nothing that raghav does now will even count.

Here is you are wrong!! Raghav if involved in death of mandar is probably due to accident!! Raghav is not someone who kills for pleasure!! And this was the Raghav Rao 2 years ago . The raghav who did not cared what others think or feel!! But that person is not the same anymore!! Raghav Rao is changing and Pallavi will not so easily left his side!! She knows the past of Raghav and how much trauma he has suffered and if she left him now this man will turn self destructive and she loves him too much to let him turn back to his former self!! And remember unlike everyone else Pallavi will not judge Raghav just hearing one side of the story!! She will listen to both and then introspect!! She will not leave him straight away just like that and she now considers Rao's her family and family is evrrything for Pallavi!!
