Kaanon ki bediyan...lol... never mind him not having anything to take revenge for, anyone who thought Raghav would be a husband from hell had clearly not watched the same show we have been watching. He just isn't that kind of person, and we know it from day 1, don or not he values relationships.
Pallavi's kaal only went up to making him eat spicy food, and then she more than compensated for it. 😆
It actually could have been interesting to see him still hate her longer after the wedding. That was his entire hang up with Jaya's condition- the idea of marrying someone who was as underhanded as he believed Pallavi to be, and how that would tear him up forever. He'd be so torn between his responsibilities as a husband and the deep distaste for her.
I doubt he'd have been a husband from hell. He'd have been distant, I think, because being around Pallavi would have been too difficult, balancing his duties and his emotions. He'd have made sure she's comfortable, but beyond that, just stayed away.
Pallavi had the stomach for the mirchi things also only because she didn't know about the allergy, couldn't have gone through with that also if she had any hint of knowledge. Usse bas pranks kara lo, more kaal than that she can't manage.
Do you think they had always planned to have the story go this way, or did they indeed have a revenge marriage track planned which they scrapped for some reason?
Re: hawa mein filter, don't even get me started. I had to stop myself from almost saying that in a work meeting the other day. 😆
I think they definitely scrapped something around that time. My sense is that the move to Hyderabad threw some plans off, which is why the wedding promo dragged on so long. Then, Shivangi was absent for a while due to illness, and the MU was cleared up so quickly behind her, and they jumped straight into redemption. We also got quite a few BTS around this time which never aired- I think Raghav on a bike, old man disguise, and Raghav drinking with a forehead injury. If I had to hazard a guess, I think they had a slightly longer revenge phase planned, while they'd have shown a conflicted Raghav and a Pallavi who was strong but getting gradually more and more worn down by her circumstances, while the MMS investigation continued in the background, and then probably the same as we saw- Raghav realizes he effed up around the same time as Pallavi decides she's done, and wants to leave.
Speculations aside, I am glad they course corrected. I hate revenge marriages, and I'm so glad we didn't have to put up with any of it! I love the direction the show took, it was perfect.
@bold- you have no idea how happy I am to hear that. I was talking to my boss' boss, and caught myself a second before saying 'hawa mein filter'. Glad to know I'm not alone. It's all because it's such a perfect phrase 🤣

I am glad they took this route too. It made the show different and gave us all very unexpected scenes and arcs to gush about. Revenge marriages are usually poorly executed on ITV anyway, and I'd rather the revenge be left for Raghav vs. the villains anyway.
Yeah, does your boss' boss watch this show? If so, it would have been hilarious if they got the reference had you slipped up.

@bold, this is what I had expected to see and was looking for. Sai would have nailed it.
Now something tells me we might actually see this in the Mandaar track but for different reasons, i.e. Raghav withdrawing because he's either insecure or hurt that Pallavi would think him capable of murder. Just her asking the question itself would be unbearable for him.

This whole murder accusation is so hard to believe. Keerti does it too. Raghav is a lot of things but a murderer? Seriously? Raghav is capable of many things but murdering someone wouldn't feature in his mind. Even Pallavi knows that. That promo may be to grab eyeballs like the previous ones. I can't imagine Pallavi straight up accusing RR of murder.
Raghav is such a wild card. Pallavi I find to be much more predictable - like the others said here, Pallavi just doesn't have it in her to go all out in a revenge. She is more of the passive aggressive type. She's just happy making Raghav squirm. Be it love or revenge, Pallavi is easier to grasp as a character.
Raghav otoh could do anything. He would either withdraw thanks to his insecurities which have only just started to resolve or he would go all out. With him it's so hard to tell which direction he will go. Once he realizes he is in love will he accept everything that is dished out to him or will he become a blazing inferno? There were discussions at the start of this show that he has potential to be a fierce, unrelenting, passionate, somewhat possessive lover. Even now I can still see him as such but at the same time I can see him completely withdrawing too because of his past traumas and how unworthy he feels.

Revenge marriage is poorly portrayed I agree and in addition to this if Raghav did anything else to hurt her after marriage after a certain point it would have become difficult for Pallavi to forgive Raghav and then the redemption also doesn’t seem to have an effect since the character it feels can’t be redeemed.
I am glad too that they didnt go with the kaaton ki bediyan for raghav, esp after the defamation stunt he had already pulled. It would have been taking things too far and making him irredeemable. This redemption track has been extremely statisfying especially with how they ended it by having him ready to sacrifice his self respect but still keeping his attitude intact!! There couldnt have been a greater impact for his character esp given that the magnitude of his actions affected her character and character only. I am also glad that they didnt go down the route of him saving her life from some danger and had him let off the hook.
Also i loved the touch of having him apologize for what he had done to her again when he hands over the ticket.

You're right, Raghav can go either way which is what makes him so interesting. It's possible he swings between the two as he is afraid to let out the inferno because it would consume him and those around him. Amma is around this time too so we have to see how he feels because he won't be all alone this time. Amma is his jaan and he is hers, so I also expect sherni to come out and help him in this situation. Something tells me Keerti might be on his side by the times things heat up.
Either way, I would find him totally believable whether there's a volcanic eruption or he withdraws.
