I don't understand her character. I think her parents have not controlled her. Then why didn't she listen to hone wala pati ka baat in past? Then why is she beating her nephew Shomik who is a man, according to her he being born as man is the best.

Since thakumaas brother has passed away she has become the head of the house so she wants everyone to listen to her 👎🏼

Thakuma asked pandit to show the solution of bondita's unusual problem. He asked her to send Bondita to an isolated building at night (where wild animals are there). If she is pure she will return safely the next day morning. If not she will die there. That's told by pandit and Thakuma accepted for this. This is called as shuddhikaran.
