Infact middle class or even upper middle class people cannot afford full time maid in India even if the family is of more than 4. They charge too much.

The basis of my comment was based on my experience. I also stay in metro city in Mumbai, We are family of 5 and 4 members earn in my family, even after that we don't have full time maid. Bcoz they charge too much. Maid comes for just cleaning rooms and washing utensils once in day time and once at night and then leaves

Full time maid ka koi matlab hi nahi hai for 2 people, I feel its waste of money. For kavya and V she has to just cook breakfast and at the same time prepare their lunch and after that clean their room and leave. And for dinner she can come in evening and make food and wash utensils and go. It saves lot of money and since Vanraj is not earning shouldn't she be thinking of saving money? A full time maid are costly. I am not saying she is wrong in hiring maid, I am saying hiring full time maid for 2 people is waste of money. And kavya ke khud ke ghar pe bhi jo maid thi woh full time nahi thi, she used work and go.

Difference 1:

In the Canada and USA, in most of the house men and women BOTH does domestic job . In india sadly mostly boy moms ar like anupama and Leela who never push their son for domestic works.

Difference 2:

In Canada , Europe , USA , men’s does bring grocery to house when coming house after job since BOTH the people are working. Here minority house has system . Even though both are working, in majority houses grocery shopping, dusting and cooking all the things done by only women because boy mom’s never push their sons like anupama and Leela never did.

Difference 3 :

About finance/cost : if I compare charges, it’s like 50 times more cheap here. Getting maids, carpenters, plumbers on cheap price is huge benefit in India. Cost is like upper middle class people can afford. You have not to be supremely rich to have maid in India.

Difference 4 :

My best friend lives in Bay Area California, I am seeing their life culture where they don’t make 4 type of aachar like typical Indian houses, they bring ready aata packs to home unlike India’s typical houses where in the summers we brought wheat from the markets, clean it on our on etc . Canadian/Americans are not making 4/5 types of aachar, neither does brings wheat at home to clean/grind and they don’t cook 5-6 items in lunch and dinner. In typical joint families, lady asks everyone about their choices of cooking so there is no general cooking system in the house unlike Canada /America where people practically cooks only 2-3 items in kuch and dinner.

Difference 5 :

Practicalities: Term is very short but difference is huge. In Indian households nobody treats working women with practical thought like if she is working let’s bring ready aata pack in the house or pickle bottles in the house or in place of making food of every single members choice, let’s try to make general 2-3 items in the morning -evening. This same things can be possible in nuclear families but definitely not in joint families.

Different 6 :

In America/Canada 2-3 generations doesn’t live under the same roof. Everyone have their separate house and they meet and greet each other either on weekends or on occasions that’s it. In india and in traditional families, 2-3 generations lives together and all wants to maintain their choices in the house without thinking practically which is huge hurdle and make domestic jobs more complex.

And aisa nahi hai ki kavya ne kabhi maid ne rakhe… uske purane ghar main maids the so she knows how to manage them… we can’t ignore such facts ki Kavya pehle apna sab kuch manage kar rahe the with maids… Pakhi even said ki maid vahan akar khana banate the and all… and obviously maid apke jaisa khana nahi banayenge but help toh ho rahe hai na and kahi na kahi toh adjust karna padega… har jageh sab kuch nahi milega na….

And Rakhi kahan galat thi… resort se ane ke baad sab log Anupama se kaam karva hi rahe hai… kisi ne operation and all ka nahi socha ab… koi parvah nahi…. Chai bhi akar Anupama bana rahe hai apne aur baa Bapuji ke liye… people need rest after coming home…: but yahan alag hi expectation set hai…..

And I too live in Delhi… here most of the working couples have full time maids or 3-4 maids one for cooking, one for cleaning, one for utensils and all… so here most of the people do have the maid… so I don’t see an issue here….

I come from a joint fam that had around 16 people at one time living under one roof

Maid was for jhadu poocha and bartan once she comes at 8.30 am.

We all had chores incl the boys since we are 10. It used to run on schedule.

Little too much discipline by grandma as her rules were sometimes inflexible

All of us know basic meals and almost all chores.

I even went for first aid training when my grandparents were bed ridden to be trained in case of emergency.

Except grandma everyone had jobs or help out in business.

Having maid is not issue, having a maid who stays with you is a different thing and they charge higher than the maid who comes works and leaves. Everyone should think of saving money, isn't that how you you secure your future so in case in future you don't have job like Vanraj doesn't have now, it is the savings that help you get you through. Also like toshu and pakhi said your privacy gets affected and also staying with maid whom you don't know at all.

And if Anupamaa wants to work why are others having an issue, she is not forcing anyone to work na. Many people like and prefer doing home work khud and she said jhilmil will be back so till that time she doesn't want to again put time and energy in teaching new maid everything, she prefers instead doing the job khud. She is not stopping kavya from.hiringbthe maid, so why is Anupamaa wrong here. Woh apne liye decision le rahi hai that she is fine doing ghar ka kaam, jaise kavya apne liye decision le rahi hai that she is not fine doing ghar ka kaam. So if Kavya is right in taking decisions for herself why is Anupamaa wrong for taking decision for herself?

And after divorce even Vanraj stayed at hospital whole night right, he wanted to pay Anupamaa's hospital bills, he knew kavya doesn't like about him worrying for Anu still he visited hospital and he also knew even Anu didn't wanted him to pay hospital bills, still he did try to pay right. So Anupamaa ne zara sa motivate kar diya toh kya hua, I don't see any issue in that. They stay in same house, toh kisi na kisi baat pe toh conversation hogi hi, better hai jhagadte rehne se toh acha hai normal conversation ho, aaj Anupamaa ne motivate kiya kal Vanraj bhi shayad kisi baat main uski side le against kavya, this will happen. I didn't find anything wrong in it.

Yes vahi kahan na ki agar Anupama karna chahte hai kare… pehle bhi isee karan uska ghar kharab hua bache spoilt bane kare… but apne gyan ke mote apne tak rakhe na… Kavya ko lecture dena ki maid KK sambhalna this and that… toh kavya handle karege na… already kavya apne purane ghar main karte the jaise Anupama yahan pe khana banate the… so why to poke her nose and give gyan ka bhasan to everyone…. Baa kahe toh I would understand but not from Anupama… Anupama kinjal ko keh sakte hai which she even said but Kavya ko lecture dena maid pe was not correct… Kavya handle karte the voh cheez… and indirectly she was stopping ki maid aise nahi karege maid vaise nahi karege mirchi zyada pasand and all… ab ghar main kya har roz 15-16 jano ka buffet banta hai kya pasand ka… normal hi khana hota hai… maid bhi seekh jayege and professional maids are even more trained than normal ones so that should not be an issue here…

Ab har cheez main toka toki se toh Anupama bhi irritate ho hoge na same is with maid…. Itna issue hai nahi jitna serial main bana diya gaya hai….

Baa Bapuji ko apne seva karvane hai toh uske liye alag maids hote hai normal full time maids aise nahi karte ki apne malish and all bhi kare… and Kavya never said to hire a maid for baa Bapuji… abhi usko apne liye chaiye…. Toh unka point dikhana was not correct….

Anupamaa ne baat ki maid ko samjhana padta hai after kavya said already trained maid hogi, so she just told ki ghar ke hisaab se trained nahi hogi, which is true and she was not wrong in saying that. And how conveniently you forgot finally Anupama only explained Kavya's pov to baa and how kavya was right to decide if she wants a maid or not and if she wants to work or not.

And in mumbai a maid who cooks charges 5k to 7k based on no of people in house and for cleaning and washing they charge 2k to 3k. So all in all 8k to 10k if you keep maid for all work who work and leave. But a whole time maid charges 17k to 20k, so there is a difference of almost 7k to 10k which according to me its too high. And whats imp is saving, doesn't matter how much you save, small small savings only help later, even our moms do the same, atleast my mom did.

And rahi baat kavya and vanraj ko ek dusre ko samjhne ki toh jab kavya vanraj ke gale lag rahi thi room main tab toh kuch usko nahi pucha, bas apni baat ki. And I don't care woh ek dusre ko samjhe ya na samjhe. Kavya sach main vanraj ko samjhti toh aise egoistic, mysogynist mindset wale aadmi se shadi hi nahi karti.

Kisi ka character negative hai to wo har baat galat hi bolega and koi serial ki main lead hai to har baat sahi bolegi aisa to nahi hai

Today Kavya said ki Anupama maid ayegi to tumhe bhi aaram milega I felt she was to only one jisne aisa socha baki saare logo me se kisi ne nahi socha aisa

Yahan sab argument dete hai ki Anupama likes to work fir problem kya hai ok fine she likes to work but still others can help na agar aap li mummy itni badi surgery ke baad aayi hai to aap ye sochoge ki unhe to kaam karna pasand hai ya help karoge
