I have watched total 4 movie versions so far (Dilip Kumar's, SRK's, Soumitra's & Prasenjit's) & in my opinion, Soumitra Chatterjee's one was the best one so far.

This question is slightly off-topic, but did you ever study at RICE? (Since you mentioned preparing for WBCS in the other thread).

To answer you - Nope. I didn't get enrolled in RICE or MIES. My parents wanted me to, but I felt like sincerely studying & watching toppers' interviews / tricks / suggestions etc were enough. Ultimately I took up Grade Up subscription though (Unacademy was not that popular back then). Grade Up classes helped me a lot to crack SSC CGL.

But for WBCS it was mostly self study. I took Sociology as optional, so didn't need coaching for optional either.

If you are preparing for WBCS, I would suggest try to watch Saptarshi Nag & Abhirup Bhattacharya's channels on YouTube. They are very helpful to the aspirants.

I had enrolled in RICE around 7 years back to crack the WBCS. I had qualified the Preliminary round at the first chance, but couldn't get past the Mains since I had left out one chapter of study owing to lack of time.

The next year, I got a job and that was the end of my aspirations. 😆

7 years is quite a bit ago😆 From 2014 onwards question pattern changed, it's mostly mcqs now. Only the language & optional papers are descriptive. Thanks to the mcqs, it's now possible to score higher, but that made preparation a bit tougher. I couldn't clear even prelims in 2018 & I felt like huh? Wtf are these questions? 😂😂 From where do they get these infos😂😂 But still, I prefer mcqs over descriptive anyday. When I first started preparation, my parents & older sister motivated me too much & I thought I can clear UPSC too as the syllabus is more or less same 🙈 I couldn't clear 2018 prelims, cleared the 2019 prelims, but the scorecard of mains.....was embarrassing to say the least 🙈🙈 Since then I have realised what a blessing objective questions are & have safely gave up any dream of UPSC that I still harboured inside 😂😂

Ab toh I am like.... Please WBCS 2019 er PT clear hoe ja 🙏 I can't repeat the whole procedure again!🤦🏻

I am so sorry That must have sucked

I had filled up the form for IB ACIO this year.... prelims exam was in feb. In my opinion, I did well. If the cut off doesn't go ridiculously high like 80-85, I should be clearing it.

But the day the prelims results was supposed to be out, LGBTQ community filed a lawsuit against them (for not including the other option in the gender drop-down menu in their form) & now no one knows what's gonna happen to it 😕 I am not keeping any hope for it anymore.

SSC CGL 2018 result was out around 5-6 months ago, ekhono document verification nie kono uccho baccho nei 🙄 Ei case solve hote hote toh bodhoi ami buri hoe retire o kore jabo 😂😂

No, don't be sorry. Like I said, I got a job as a content writer the next year. A few months later, I flew to Delhi to do a Mass Communication course, following which I got placed at Times of India online desk.

Now I'm a journalist, something I'd always aspired for since the 12th. I guess this is what was meant for me, and I'm more than happy with it. 😃
