What I am still interested in watching, is how will the dynamic reach its logical conclusion...

Navera likes Essa a lot, but it’s largely limited to respect and admiration

Essa is going to give his marriage his best shot

The only thing that I don’t want to watch is Essa and Navera ending up together, just because Rida is no more...

There just has to be MORE to that...

You are right, the fact that they ended up together, there must definitely more to it. Hopefully it’s not about distancing yet another person Rida from Navera’s life. :( I really hope Essa continues to be a part of Navera’s journey in some way. Because like you said, anything less would be such a shame.

The way the show is trying to create more rapport between Navera and Dawar, it makes me think that the writer is trying to bring them together- not necessarily into a romantic relationship but more like best friends and soulmates.

Not sure what Essa’s role will be in all this but I am really interested to wait and watch. I think that’s what the show has done, given the viewer enough reasons to tune in everyday to find out- kudos to the writer for that!

I think in relationships there's someone who always benfits from the weakness of the partner. If you are a giving and a caring person, your partner will take you for granted and ask for more. It is better you don't show your weakness, or shower love on your spouse,don't loose your self in another just to plz him.. 😕

So I’m thinking that nikkah between EssaRida was actually their shaadi? Lol what a suhag raat.

I can see how Talat's conversation with Maham was problematic. The only reason I think it was appropriate is because Maham spared no measure to marry Dawar, who she considered her best suitor. Who didn't Maham manipulate to get Dawar? Off the top of my head, she used her phupho, Dawar, her mother, her father, Navera, Salman, amongst others, just to meet her goal of marrying Dawar. And as we saw when Maham basically offered herself to Essa, Maham has no real attachment to Dawar; as soon as a more handsome, richer guy came along, Maham is ready to drop Dawar for the next guy! Also, Maham was so greedy and eager to marry Dawar that she bamboozled 5 crore from her own phupho who raised her like a daughter. So while in 99% of circumstances, I am not ok with a forced pregnancy or forcing a woman to have a child she doesn't want, Maham is responsible for this happening. I mean, also, does Maham not know where babies come from? Does she not realize there were measures to stop a pregnancy if she really was adamant on not having a child?

I don't think that topic is ever addressed in dramas, it's usually it's shaadi then pregnancy and if the girl doesn't want the child then she's in the wrong.

ugh I had a whole thing typed out about how yes, I think Maham is planning marrying Navera to Saleem the driver but it for some reason was deleted when I edited the post. Basically, yes, I think Maham is going to go off the deep end. Maham is being forced to have a child she doesn't want and is on house arrest, her sister Rida married the richer, more handsome dude and is going to go to the UK, her friends get to travel...I think all of this at once will take a toll on Maham's mental health. I think Maham will use her free time and frustration to somehow force Navera to marry the driver. I don't think Maham is above using a tactic like "if you don't marry Saleem, I'll tell Rida that Essa wanted to marry you, not her" or "I'll terminate this pregnancy if you don't marry Saleem" or just create a fake situation like she did with Dawar to make it seem like Navera is having an affair with Saleem. Basically, I think Maham will be the type to be like "if I have to suffer, I'm going to make sure you suffer 10x more" and the victim will be, as always, Navera.

@Bold: I completely agree , that is how Maham's character is written but maybe the wedding won't take place. Nawera got a rishta from a shopkeeper but it fell through in the initial phase.

Writers keep hinting at his good side beech beech mein..so I feel they will redeem him in big way.

I may be wrong but I feel essa may just ease navera's life and get her together with dawar in big way.

Very good advice Awida! But what could one do if we meet with a very bad/evil spouse. Sometimes a lifetime is not enough of know what other person truly is. I read somewhere that good marriage depends on luck. If u have bad luck and meet wrong ppl, no matter how many compromises u do, u will not be happy. But if met right ppl, can enjoy like maham.

Marriage is 100% luck. My parents were born in Pakistan, but I was born and raised in the West. Sometimes I genuinely wonder if it's better to do what the "goray" do--live with someone before marriage to see exactly what they're like. My friends who come from different cultures who lived with their spouses before marriage knew everything about the person they married. But then I also think marriage loses its importance in cultures like that. It's always a gamble, no matter if its arranged or you've lived with your spouse for fifteen years before marriage.

So, I just rewatched the episode where Navera asks Essa to marry Rida instead of her.

When I first watched that episode last week, we were coming off of some prime EssaVera scenes; EssaVera was fresh in all of our minds.

But now that I've been able to take a step back and look at this drama objectively:

-The EssaVera scenes in the hospital were on one hand lovely in terms of acting, direction, music, etc., but they truly weren't that grand. I hope that makes sense. What I mean is, there was something lackluster about them. Maybe because Komal was playing it off as very platonic, and maybe because Essa was relatively easily convinced.

-Did Essa ever say to anyone that he loves Navera? He said to her "mein aapko chahta hoon" and said something similar to Dawar about Navera, but did he ever say he loved her? I don't think he did, which also sort of takes away from EssaVera a little bit for me.

Since I love to play devil's advocate, I'll say why I think EssaVera still may happen:

-Rida is going to die. I'm honestly going to be shocked if she lives til the end. There's too much foreshadowing of her tumor possibly returning and her "akhri saans" line for her to live.

-There were a LOT of EssaVera scenes, more than DaVera scenes, and easily more than any EssaRida scenes. The writers really went HAM on them, and I can't believe that was ultimately for nothing

-Komal's post with Usama captioned "to be continued" that she posted the day before the EssaRida wedding.

-Rida doesn't know why Essa married her, and I think when she finds out, it'll be a big plot point

And my most personal reason for wanting EssaVera:

-Dawar is lame. Don't let him end up with Navera.

I still think it'll be EssaVera. I'm just slightly deterred at the moment.
