Sabeena posted a video of her and Usama on her insta story. She is wearing a black scarf over her bandages and is in a night suit. I guess they will show more scenes of Rida and Essa.
by this do you think Usama means that there’s more to the drama or that Essa marrying Rida is considered the end of the drama?
*WARNING: spoilers for today’s episode below*
I enjoyed the episode today!
First of all, it’s nice to see EssaRida scenes because I like seeing Essa uphold his promise to be loyal to Rida. It shows what an upstanding dude he is. And it’s just nice to see Rida be happy and say she’s happy. Awwwww. However, I got nervous for Rida again when Essa started talking about how they’ll live together in their own home in London which they’ll make a jannat together. That just sounds like a dream that won’t come true. Maybe I’m wrong.
Essa and Navera had one short scene today where she asks him to make a show of giving her the phone that Dawar gifted Navera (so that nobody thinks has any suspicious thoughts of Navera and Dawar). There was a look that Essa gave Navera at the end of the scene, not sure what the look meant. My guess is he wants to communicate that Navera asks a lot of him but couldn’t manage to say it at this time. Unfortunately, a neighbor lady saw the two of them talking and who knows what trouble Navera will get into because of it.
Zahida decided that Navera’s husband will be a ghar damad so Navera can live with her forever. Navera, of course having been neglected and rejected her whole life, is ok with this. I would’ve laughed in Zahida’s face if she suggested that to me. To me this sets off death flags for Zahida—because we can all pretty much guess that Navera will live with either Dawar or Essa at the end of the drama and chances are, neither of them will be ghar damads.
I tried not to FF through the scenes of Dawar, Maham and Talat but they were a little lackluster and repetitive this episode, especially the MahWar scenes. We know the baby will be born per the OST so this abortion track it needs to pick up the pace. Maham primarily remained silent, but I do think she would be slightly more sympathetic if we saw more into her mindset than “but I can’t travel with a baby!!!” It’s especially nuanced because she did seem happy when they announced the news to Talat, so if it’s a fear of this changing her in life, I wish Dawar or Talat would try to focus on her mental health. It could be a unique storyline.
I know Dawar is trying to uphold his promise to Rida, but I’m not sure why he wouldn’t try to be more subtle about giving Navera a gift like that, especially when he knows Maham is crazy and ready to accuse him of infidelity at the drop of a hat. This is why the writing of Dawar annoys me: his intelligence nosedives when it comes to Maham and Navera. It’s like he never thinks things through, and on the other hand, you have an amazingly-consistent character in Essa whom you can always see the logic behind.
The rest of the episode focused on Ehab and his delinquent behavior, which were automatic FF scenes haha. They’ve painted Ehab as such a lost cause and have already made tahir realize that his daughters are way better people, that I’m not sure we need a constant reminder that Ehab sucks.
Overall not a bad episode, but I’d like Maham to have more dialog in her conversations with Dawar about da baby (or should I say...DaBaby get it? Get it? Because of DAwar??? Hahahahaha ok maybe I’m laughing by myself here). And as always, I’d like more EssaVera but I know that’ll come in time.

I think Essa marrying Rida is the end of the drama.
Idk, because Rida has yet to learn why Essa married her and that Essa loves Navera.
I don’t think Rida is the typical heroine who will cry or hurt herself upon learning this type of truth, nor do I think she’s so petty as to leave Essa upon learning this, but it could be a catalyst for a big development in the drama.
Oh my. Looks like Essa and Rida have taken the plunge after all. Haven’t watched the last two episodes yet and trying to keep away from the thread for the fear of spoilers but asal baat toh samajh mein aa hi gaya just by skimming through the last couple of pages. The only two people who understand her and stand up for her would be gone, wonder what worse can happen to Navera after this considering the show will have to mostly thrive on her misfortune. :(
My review today will be rather crisp, and no prizes for guessing why!😀
Actually going forward, lagta hi ke aise hi hone wala hai!😂
The Essa and Rida scenes were done very well...
Essa, true to his integrity of character....settling into his new role...
Loved the tonality of FRIENDSHIP written all over both their scenes...Essa is obviously giving the marriage his best shot!👍
This guy’s strength of character is quite something else!👌
Loved how he told Rida exactly what it was...that look on Essa’s face when he read Navera’s message...Usama just nailed that moment!👏
Rida was obviously happy that she has this gem of a person for her life partner, but that hint of an expression at the end of the scene.....on Rida’s face...was beautifully done....subject to interpretation, really!👍
This may go either way...but, something tells me that Essa will give this marriage his all...Rida’s insecurities (obviously due to her ill health) will get the better of her...the Rida-Navera dynamic, sadly, is likely to change!
This instinct was amplified that much more....thanks, to the presence, of the neighbour lady...who happened to overhear the Essa and Navera conversation...that was for a purpose, IMO...
That same scene had a GLORIOUS moment...while on the one hand, Navera will always remain Essa’s priority...the guy knows exactly where to draw the line...
Navera, sadly, hasn’t realised how at a subconscious level, she depends on Essa so much (actually trusts him more than anything else)...that she has started taking Essa for granted...
Essa, being Essa, would never take to that kindly...not because he would not want to...but since, given the changed dynamic...it would not be the right thing to do...
It was a very brief moment....but, Essa’s “this ain’t right, Ma’am; I ain’t not liking it” said it all!
I have said this several times earlier as well...Essa is an extremely well thought through character written with such subtle nuances...and Usama is doing an EXEMPLARY job of bringing every facet of Essa, beautifully to life!
👏👏👏
And finally, the HIGHLIGHT moment of the episode...
The closing shot of the sequence between Navera and her mother...when the ever so senseless Zahida reprimands her daughter for not having learnt a trick or two from her more “capable” sisters...
Navera’s expression...as she camouflages her pain...in that smile...a smile that clearly is not able to reach her eyes...and yet, as she gets a grip on her emotions...as if, it’s just another day...
The NUANCES that Komal is bringing to Navera are absolutely STUNNING!
👏👏👏
As I conclude, as neither of us know how the future is going to unravel...one thing‘s for sure...
I am so happy, to be honest DIL SE happy that Usama and Komal have got this wonderful opportunity to showcase their talent through the embodiment of Essa and Navera, and their journey, through Mohlat.
Nothing pleases me more than, when genuine talent gets the recognition that they deserve...and these two have clearly given their respective characters, their absolute best!
Today, was a beautiful testament to that...they shone through even in the absence of the classical EssaVera dynamic!
Usama Khan and Komal Aziz Khan, more power to you, guys!❤️
Cheers!
DocD
P.S.: In the same vein, have a question for Sami Khan...for an actor so darn good, what on earth got him to agree to play Davar the Duffer? Beats me completely!!

Hey Cutejodidar! 🤗
How have you been? Missed you, especially after yesterday’s epi...
Yes, Essa and Rida have taken the plunge...
But all is not lost yet, at least for me....
This Essa and Rida journey will have its own course, for sure...
But my hopes are still pinned on Samira Fazal...
This story is about Navera finding her spot under the sun...
Essa is integral to this journey
The very fact that Essa and Rida should land up together so early in the drama
Means, to me, that there is a lot still waiting to unfold
What I am still interested in watching, is how will the dynamic reach its logical conclusion...
Navera likes Essa a lot, but it’s largely limited to respect and admiration
Essa is going to give his marriage his best shot
The only thing that I don’t want to watch is Essa and Navera ending up together, just because Rida is no more...
There just has to be MORE to that...
About the Essa and Navera dynamic
That’s the USP of this show
Anything lesser.....would be such a shame!!
I don't think Dawar is Duffer
He understands everything but is patient enough to absorb or let go
And this happens in arranged marriages a lot or in marriages which has been fixed since childhood
That the boy or the gal likes the cousin from beforehand but have no idea how the cousin will turn out to be in future
Here the one at fault is Talat...she was initially blinded by Mahams beauty and over smartness and wanted her for Dawar and have conditioner him into thinking so as well...
That's very common in the asian culture
And there r men like dawar who try to reason with their unreasonal irrational selfish evil wives and hopes against hope those wives will understand and act human
In some cases it does pay off but unfortunately in most cases ...it doesn't as gals like maham don't change....they get even more greedy and evil and selfish and apni Marzi ka maalik when they see their husbands are not saying anything harsh or scolding them .....they take adv of the polite nature of the husbands
On the contrary , i m glad it's Sami who is playing Dawar and not some other random actor from geo....people like dawar does in this world who understands what's happening but tries to tackle it peacefully. and there is nothing wrong in playing such a character....there r way more pathetic male characters in dramas
