Ranbir, Ranveer, Deepika and Alia are superstars sure but their fame is nowhere near the level of superstarstardom of the superstars we have been used to.

Not a bollywood historian here so I have no idea what stardom was like for the likes of Rajesh Khanna or Amitabh Bachchan. But I lived through the Khans stardom. Their movies are not just movies, they are events. Good or bad the numbers they brought is something these "superstars" can't yet touch. I have yet to meet those random foreigners who go out of their way to tell me they love Bollywood and then mention someone like Ranbir or Deepika. It's still badly pronounced Emitab Bashan and Shareukh Kan. I don’t know where the crazy Ranbir, Ranveer, Alia and Deepika lovers are hiding. But you know the way you love Deepika? Constantly fawn over her? Growing up that I felt that was every SRK fan or Salman fan. It wasn't 1 fan, it was almost everyone of them. Current stars have lots of fans but very few of them love the way fans loved their stars in the past.

That was what they said about Kumar Gaurav after Love Story. But then came Hrithik in the 90s with KNPH. So who knows... But social media and the over exposure will surely make it more difficult in the coming days.

Every era has it's superstars. Every era, the fans of the current superstars always say "they don't make em like they used to".

In the 90s when Aamir and Salman and Shah Rukh Khan were a rage, all the oldies were saying "this is nothing like Rajesh Khanna's craze" / "girls used to write letters written in their blood to him" / "he got 50,000,000 marriage proposals every tuesday" etc.

And even in Rajesh Khanna's times, the oldies used to say "he is not as big as Dilip Kumar / Dev Anand / Raj Kapoor" etc.

And now in 2021, my generation is getting OLD with their views and we all feel "there are no superstars"... but we are wrong, we are just GETTING ON a bit. Nostalgia is so blinding and hard to admit.

The craze is still the same. Look at the crowds SRK can still pull outside his house on his birthday. And there are a million other examples of similar level.

Today, stars might have more interaction with fans online, but that does not take ANYTHING away from how big their stars and shining.

If there’s a superstar after HR he/she is yet to emerge...

Aloo baby, RK, DP, RS maybe stars but not superstars...

If I don't know him, then tgat means his debut is not like Hrithik. Everyone was talking abt HR when KNph was released.

Well, he’s an oldie from the 80s so unless you’re an old movie aficionado you wouldn’t know

Even I didn’t know that his debut was like HRs but I heard his first movie Love Story ( copy of HW movie Love Story I think) was a super hit and he was introduced by his dad just like HR

He is the son of Jublee Kumar..lol...His Dad had given so many hit movies that he was named Jublee Kumar....but like proven so many times...if you don't have it in you...the public kicks u out...it doesn't matter how big ur Dad is ......once Salman said in an interview that Kumar Gaurav is the only legit superstar in BW and he used to give Salman his old jeans when Salman was younger...😆
