Tanya was never a door mat darling !! You seemed to have missed the point completely, she loved her husband begot him a honhaar son and performed all the roles required of a mohter, wife and daughter-in law of the house!! until she felt she was beign misused !!

I agree Lata di! Tanya never felt (to me) to be a evil character...she was just a women who wanted to be loved. She just wanted want any women wants...a loving husband. She managed to have a good relationship with her kids but never had that bond with Karan. You can't blame her for wanting a litle love.
