So wonderfully penned Jiggy❤️

Aastha's character is as meaty the leads in this show and it is also played very convincingly by the actress. I always look forward to her scenes and her story. Sadly, we have got very less of it.

Though Aastha has wronged Shaurya, she has been wronged too. More than Aastha, Shaan has wronged both Aastha and Shaurya. He couldn't handle the separation, he couldn't take a stand for his wife, he couldn't take responsibility of his child. If he knew Devi is trying to manipulate the kid against his mom, why he never tried to make the mother and son meet, maybe outside the house?

I am eager to watch a track where all these concerns are addressed. Shaurya and Aastha can't get back those 25 years, but I want them to discuss about them and feel eachother's pain. I remember the hospital scene after Shaurya met her with Devi, Aastha had finally broken down and cried in the arms of Shaan. I want a similar scene with Shaurya now, where they both cry together and share their feelings! I am not for too much rona-dhona in a show but this show uses the least amount of glycerin on ITV😆 I don't want the characters to keep crying, but break down at one point! Here not a single character expresses their emotions ya, sab b ade hi strong hai!😆Its high time we get the exhausting intense emotional scenes of this real family of 4 of them!

I had loved the journey of Shanoor relationship too. Separated for long, coming together as formal acquaintances, fear of death bringing them closer, their easing out with eachother phase in that apartment, suddenly the divorce and again starting afresh as dating! I was so looking forward to their journey but covid messed it up!And idk why they have suddenly forgot about that track and Shaan's character from that track since Goa episodes! Bring that Shaan and Aastha back!!!!

No doubt that Shaurya suffered the most. This is always the case with kids whose parents have a broken marriage.

Aastha suffered too but at least as an adult she could understand or accept the circumstances around her or try to do something about them. Whereas Shaurya, a 4 year old, had no understanding of the situation around him, couldn't do anything about it and just grew up with what was told to him by Devi.

The complexity of Aastha's situation 25 years ago has always intrigued me. She sacrificed her career, her independence to marry Shaan. Perhaps even accepted the unfair practices of the Sabharwal house for the sake of her husband and child. But when her old and ailing parents were left in a dire situation, she could not turn her face away. Women are always expected to make compromises with respect to her parents after marriage. I have seen how women in my life accepted many unjust demands of their in-laws to keep peace and avoid conflict. The same was expected of Aastha too. It was time for her to do something for those who gave birth to her, nurtured her, stood by her side through thick and thin. She could not leave them at the mercy of Tej Sabharwal. She knew how humiliating it would be for her parents to be dependent for life on her in-laws. Sure they would understand and accept that fate. But Aastha would never be able to look herself in the mirror. She wanted to take the responsibility of both her parents and her in-laws' family. Tej and Devi would not have that. She pleaded with Shaan to make them understand but Shaan had no say infront of his brother. She never asked him to leave them and come with her. She never asked him to break that family. She only asked him to support her but he remained silent. Aastha understood there was no place for her in that house. She could not stay there and fight till eternity when the person who brought her in that house did not support her.

Therefore she decided to leave along with her son. They stopped her again. Shaurya was a Sabharwal. The eldest male child of a powerful family. They would not let him go with her. They threatened her with their power. They threatened to take her to court. Aastha was left helpless. She knew she could not afford a long dragging court case with the influential Sabharwals with her meagre salary. She also had the resposnsiblity of her parents on her shoulders. Even if she fought them, she would risk damaging Shaurya's childhood. She did not want him to see his parents fighting a tug of war with him in the middle. She did not want his childhood be lost in the alleys of the courthouse. While discussing Aastha's past with Kanchan, Gayatri said that a mother can go through extreme difficulties but couldn't bear her child getting hurt or something along those lines. Aastha's condtion reminded me of the tale of two mothers who were asked to prove their rights on the child by pulling it to her side. Aastha felt it was better to let him go than fight over him. Then again she said while leaving that she will fight for her son till the end. Perhaps both Aastha and the writers forgot that.

The Sabharwals were well to do people. Shaurya was pampered by everyone in that family. His wishes were always prioritised. Aastha thought he would be fine there. She perhaps didn't think about the feeling of abandonment he would face. But parents often give more importance to material needs of their children than emotional needs. Maybe she thought Shaurya would soon be over the pain of her leaving. She had a difficult life ahead. She couldn't risk dragging Shaurya into that. Parents don't want to make mistakes when it comes to their children, but end up making bigger ones due to wrong decisions. Aastha tried to take the best decision for Shaurya given the circumstances at hand, but it turned out to be the wrong one. She perhaps never thought that she would not be able to meet him even once in 25 years. She didn't have an idea that Devi would block all her attempts to reach her son. She didn't force her way then because she didn't want to create a ruckus that would disturb Shaurya even more. She couldn't foresee how Shaan would turn out to be even a worse father than husband. That he would not be able to give love and attention to their son even while being so close to him.

This is what I could gather about her character from what has been shown so far. I do not necessarily agree with all her decisions. I still don't know why she didn't try to contact him when he was older. Even then I feel for her. More so because despite life handing out so many blows, she took them in her stride and moved along in this journey called life. On the way helping others to make their life a little better. Apno ke liye to sab karte hai. Jo dusro ke liye karte hai, wahi duniya badalte hai. True she could not do anything for her son. But I still don't think she was a bad mother. Like Anokhi said, "Maa galat ho sakti hai, par buri nahi."

You penned it excellent.however, just to add few points...

As you mentioned she didn't tried to meet him when he grew old.The point is no,when he was a child Sabarwals never made Aasthaa meet him, he grew with the false allegtions on AAsthaa and has developed an hatred for her. Also,in his birthday track it was mentioned he was there after 8 yrs,may be after 16 or 18 he went abroad for studies? Or even if he would have stayed,he studied at SIAC so even there was no chance of meeting him.........Sabarwals must be having great security kaash hostel ko bhi de dete............

Plus Devi always had accounts of Shaurya . So,even she would have not let him meet her. They met at Gurdaspur as it was an debate competition no one knew AAsthaa would be there..........

In episode 1 st week episodes Aasthaa was shown stealing glances of her son with moist eyes, she even made an attempt to talk with him but he ,beijjtai kar di usne.Even it was mentioned ki she fought for him but Tej made influence of his power but then he writers forgot and they made AAsthaa as sacrificing...........

She always owned her decision of abandoning him,she even mentioned Shaan in bullet track that Shaurya ka gussa jayaj hai.

Her love for her son was unconditional, she never wanted him to love her back what she always wanted was that her son just shouldn't hate her.neither love nor hate was she wanted from her son.

Even when Gayatri came to know about Shakhi from kanchan she was-

i don't want Anokhi in Sabarwals as I have seen what Aasthaa bhabhi has to went through.SAbarwals ne kya kiya hoga?

Aasthaa's sufferings were no lesser, ulta I will say more than Shaurya.

As,though Shaurya was barely 4 he ahd all his relations at one place.AAsthaa knew though she would have taken Shaurya along with her he was at lost, didn't she mentions usse 5 relations chiin jaate,he would still have been emotionally broken.

It was like Shaurya was destined to suffer, she just made his sufferings lesser at that time by letting him with his 5 relations and suffering her own self, well she didn't knew at that time that Sabarwal's won't will let even meet her son.

It was not the case like normal separation of parents,in it the child is shared even if custody is at one paret the other meets at weekends, yahan she was blocked so she could never putforth her side her pain infront of Shaurya.

If shaurya would break emotionally he had his 5 relations consoling him.

Who did she had?

She had parents who were old age,she could not even allow her own self to break infront of them if she would have let it,her parents would have died internally.....The blame game starts......We sees everyone sympathising with Shaurya's pain but what I feel is atleast he could erupt, while Aasthaa it has been like slow-poison killing her own self. She still suffers, bears hatred of her own son.longing for son, and even can't blame him as his hatred is justified even according to her......

It's just Shaurya breaks hence, everyone sympathizes but AAsthaa she stands firm on her grounds which never means she doesn't get hurt........

Uska dard alag uchaai par hai,may be itna ki koi bhi usse samajh nahi paa raha.....And she still bears wearing a smile and standing firm..........

She had to let go of her son for her parents and self-respect.. It hurt her everyday but she learnt to live with it.. She didn't want her child to suffer in a broken marriage and broken house but didn't realise how far it broke her own son..

She chose to fight for her parents' life but lost the battle for her own son's love and attachment.. She lost the most precious thing in her life and had no one to wipe her tears.. She had to bury her feelings deep inside her heart because no one cared for them.. She was judged and humiliated for her choice because it seemed she cared less but she always cared the most.. A mother can never stop caring or loving..

She sees the inate goodness and strength in her son which others even his own father fail to realise.. She understands his feelings and love which the people in the house who nurtured him for 25 years couldn't fathom..

She wanted him happy and when she knew his newfound feelings for a girl, she was in seventh heaven.. She decided to fight this time, for her son, for his happiness.. She was questioned, misinterpreted but she didn't stop encouraging him, she didn't stop standing behind him for his happiness.. She could never fight for her own but she would for her son..

Her son came to call her back but it wasn't what he wanted.. He was just tolerating her for someone else.. She realised what she had lost.. She knew her son may not love her but she realised he didn't respect her even.. Her choices and decisions didn't matter to him.. She wasn't going to be an unwanted guest in his life.. She refused him and waited for the day he recognised her pain and reconciled with her with his full heart..

Thank you Arpi for the idea.. 🤗

Astha has undoubtedly suffered a lot, but atleast she had a little say in the Shaan-Astha-Shaurya dynamics... Unlike Shaurya... ! Her suffering has been evident since episode 1 where Anokhi too noticed it saying... Not sure ki inhone ne apne zindagi mein kitna kuch saha hoga...

Because being a woman, family and responsibilities will always be top priority.. But further problem is.... That it will be Sasural wale ki family and not their own... In the process, they tend to lose their own identity... Saberwal vs. Kashyab had strong stance for Astha too... She was OK to give up everything for Shaan till life pushed her to make a decision, which could be unfair to Shaurya...

At the moment, she is trying to be stronger mother, but in process... I did want her to help Shaurya understand her perspective and show little reluctance towards ShaKhi alliance.. But ultimately agree... After explaining to Shaurya about all the ways Anokhi can suffer with Saberwals.... I guess makers are just going to make the realization through changed in love concept... But I hoped Astha also tried mending relationship with Shaurya as actively as Shaurya is expected to...

@Bold- I too hoped that Shaustha relationship to be independent of Shakhi relationship.. I nowhere want that baggage to come into this one.. But it seems makers think Shaurya needs a push and Anokhi is the one that should be giving him that..

I will always take her decision with a pinch of salt because I honestly feel she should have fought harder for her son. Today Shaurya's dialogues hit me hard, his pain hit me hard. But on the flip side I get Aastha's decision too and the pain her choices have caused her.

Urrgh, I love this show for this. Being able to understand everyone's point of view. Nothing is black or white, everyone is grey except a certain someone who shall not be named. ❤️

@Bold- I too feel same.. She should have never stopped fighting..

I felt really angry with her and sympathised with Shaurya during Anokhi admission scene.. Why couldn't she fight this hard and this long for him!!

After seeing today's episode we got to know about Shaury's pain and suffering. In previous episodes also it was shown how shaurya longed for his mother but they never showed properly Aastha's pain and sufferings.

She is a mother and a daughter. She was wronged in many ways, She was asked to choose between her married life , son and her parents, her husband didnt support her when she needed it the most.

Having said that , what was the mistake of that 4 yrs old boy who had to bear the burnt of all this. She left without fighting for him. For 25 years , She must have come to meet him when he wa sick and Sabharwals didnt let her meet him but for 25 years , she never spoke to her husband .. She should have asked about her son and how he is coping up with all these issues but she didnt do that.

After 25 years , she is coming back in his life and that also for a student . This time also she didnt come for him.

Maybe Aastha's situation was very bad and she had to take decision for her parents who needed her attention but what about that 4 yr old jiski bhi ek hi Maa thi..Maa ki jagah koi nahi le sakta hai.

Aastha should have fought harder, She gave up early. She is at fault and she should take responsibility of that.

We are like she understands her Son so well , but if we see she understands Anokhi also equally well. Maybe she is an understanding person but this doesnt prove that she is a good mother.

Devi was able to foul Shaurya's mind but Aastha never felt the need to justify herself infront of her son. Wo samjhati to wo jaaror sunta.. Samjhta ki nahi I dont know

@Bold- Ye to kaafi ajeeb hai and inconsistent hai.. Sometimes she says mai aati thi tumse milne and she hasn't talked to Shaan for 25 years and phir kabhi it is said she couldn't find himmat to come for 25 years.. 🙄

Well any child/adult will never forgive you if u couldn't find himmat for him for 25 years but suddenly found himmat for a student.. 😕

I am all for a proper redemption track for Astha without Anokhi's involvement.. She shouldn't get an entry in his life because Anokhi wants it but it should be because her son is able to forgive her.. Let's see kya hota hai..

Amazing... 😭

Sometimes I feel too bad for her if we take Shaurya out of the equation and think from her perspective.. She took certain decisions which has broken many people..

Maybe marrying Shaan was the biggest mistake of her life.. She was in love and didn't understand the dynamics and consequences of the ill-fated relationship..
