A wonderfully penned piece. Aditya's fears, Imlie's insecurities, all of these were something I wanted the show to address. Glad that it's done here. Their soulful connect, the heart to heart talk - loved it all. Love the way how their emotions written in the piece sound and feel so poetic. Do write more. Love this take on the track.

Just one point of improvisation (I hope u don't mind me saying) - just a few spelling mistakes here and there which if corrected will make this beautiful piece more better. 😊

Thank you for the comment and glad you enjoyed the take on the track. I always felt that the natural step of the show should have been address their insecurities and one I wanted to happened when he had gone to look for her. I still feel the while satyakaam track was a pivotal moment set this in motion because he represents the ideology of truth. Even if that meant them being separated for a while.

Glad you felt the poetic connect that was on way of trying to keep the piece light.😊

As for the spell check in the piece I shall have a look when I have some time. That autocorrect on mobile for you 😊 it cannot be helped even when you try to keep it error free.

Thank you 😊 glad you enjoyed the reveal of the poem. I always felt that her calling him out on the terrace to stop one of the many signs his heart had taken to connect with her. I felt that was a stepping stone in a change of direction there journey could take after it revealed how much she new of a man she did not get to spend a lot of time with.

“In my darkest hour I reach for a hand, then I found yours to guide, to hold, to live, to embrace only to remember to forever hold on to your light of love”

The subtleties of the day draw to a close with it bringing forth its message of its endless end. A ray of darkness creeps in as the sun dawns to a close with it taking its rays of warmth confirming the hollowness that Aditya felt within. As he lay asleep in deep slumber back at the lodge none the wiser Imlie watched unsettled. He seemed distracted somewhat distressed as he rattled around in bed. She wondered if he was having a nightmare but let the very thought go the next second, while she went to make him a meal for when he awoke. If only she had stayed would she have realised how right she had been.

Meanwhile darkness awakens in great force bringing with it a strong set of protective arms, holding him ever so close until the promised dawn ignites. Within it shields Aditya feels safe once more, safe in shields of a that like a coveted duvet. He looks on into his path until he finds his place so open to the skies. Soothing his fears to sound of the resting cricket's lullaby while searching for her eyes whom are as bright as the constellations above. His reprieve just like one of stardust atoms seeking the stars until they can plunge again into the light of the sun.

The path at his feet fades as Aditya follows it lead into the darkness of the forest. He follows the foggy path of gloom for Imlie sake. For somewhere within the woods Imlie awaits the answer she needs, and so he follows the narrow path as his feet settle into the dusty path leaving his prints behind. Touching the coloured leaves in his passing as he feels there gentle spirit soothe his very own. Till he feels a hand touch his skin and pass. Alerting Aditya that there paths were not to far in this distant world. The light of love he had never seen or sensed had today forced him to open up to his other senses to do the same. Thus he listened out to the sound, the aroma ever so carefully till he felt it in his every instinct. It was so when he was finally embraced by the light of an angel whom held out her hand to will him up again. He grabbed on for dear life for her whom must be waiting leaving the gloominess behind as if his very life depended upon it. As he called out her name once more before he blanked out again.

Not being able to see anything behind the darkness. He could have sworn that the nymph like creature had peppered his face with kisses. Subtly spreading her warmth within his soul as he awakened from the darkness that had been bestowed upon him a few moments ago. How long had he been in the dark he knew not. Had it been mere seconds, minutes or hours, yet all he knew was that he wished for nothing more then a glimpse of her before he knew he was no more.

Imlie the girl that had entered his life like a storm to bring down the heavens to his otherwise parched heart. Seeping herself within him just like the dews of Mother Nature that blossomed a baron land with herself unknown of the colour that it may bring forth. He had been lost for so long, traveling back and forth between his responsibility towards his family and his wife. Yes his wife Imlie the only truth he knew was absolute. The one that destiny had bestowed upon him without his reckoning or want but in the end had become the centre of his whole being.

They say once deepest fear is awakened when he stares death in the face. He had done both for he had walked and lived through the moment forgetting his own family in its wake. All that mattered had been her the one he claimed was a mere burden alone and nothing more. How the gods laughed at his plight today where he prayed to her to show her mercy and bring her to him just once so he could right the wrong he knew he had made.

Now as he clutched his eyes tighter fighting to avoid the brightness of the light. Aditya swore he had felt whispers pass him by. It had been faint, distant but he was sure it felt like a voice one filled with urgency yet somewhat panicked.

“I’ll be right here...right here...waiting with open arms” she cried in earnest. He couldn’t leave not yet not like this. He had promised her he would be with her forever. Pulling in closer with each cry as if begging the angels above to fight off her plight.

“Will you?” Aditya asked forlorn.

Her concern for him reflected in her questions. How the tides had turned. Aditya laughed within wondering what a hand faith had dealt him. If only he could have gone back in time to fix his biggest regret. Only if he had listened to his mother then. Back than he would simply laugh at his mother petty worries. Her ideology on love, marriage and friendship would have him in stitches to no end.

Aditya had heard it all from the Bollywood cliches to the down to earth plea to think again. Yet he had paid no heed when she would get her self worried sick about the lack of love in his relationship with Maline. They had argued to no end with her each time telling him that marriages should not be based upon conveniences. In the end he would always brush aside her worries.

Simply shrugging it off. The idea of love and marriage never fascinated him nor was he interested. He had always believed in compatibility and comfort. It had been the sole reason of why he had committed himself in a bond of marriage with Maline. After all she was his best friend. They knew each other well and that’s all that really mattered. Till he had met her. The storm that would create havoc and end his drought.

Imlie a boon to his heart.

He simply wanted to live. Held in the serenity of her arms Aditya wanted nothing more then bask in her warmth. Neither caring or calculating what love was all about. Aditya knew her care free nature was why he drew to her like a moth to a flame. Every time he denied Imlie her right she would move forward without a single complaint telling him time and time again that she held faith within herself. There relationship would be her truth and her truth alone but what she had failed to see with each step she took back he moved towards her nipping at the crumbs of her attention. He acknowledged his truth, owned it and longed to walk the path of redemption with her by his side.

Aditya feels the darkness seeps further as he struggles to breath. He had begged Satyakaam for a chance to speak his truth. Willed him to let him meet her even begged but none had worked. The guilt eating him hollow as the man she worshipped like a father settled his faith. He had never been afraid but today he had. Afraid of leaving her alone in a sea of angst as the dust covered him. The clouds settled down pouring drought once more leaving gloominess behind. With it Aditya gives up trying, drowning himself in the dungeon of the murkiness while he struggled to breathe. No longer thinking, imagining or obsessing over what happened while he lay covered in the blanketed cage. Letting go was never an option till now.

Till he heard a whisper once more. Begging him to hold on tight. He tried to move, scream her name or even hold her hand but his every efforts failed. Only to feel his eyes pulled closed, adversely trying to speak to her in a thousand ways needing to let her in to his secrets within the silence of the dammed. But he knew her body may have not been with him yet her heart was a window from his to hers which would surely hear his plight. He swore out of failure.

Yet the light flickers to dust as he yearns to hold on tight. Moving forward he wondered why he could feel her but not see. Wanting to be closer as if his very breath was dependent upon it. He had lost her so many times that Aditya had lost count. Still he had been unable to shed his fears. But now that he had walked the shackles of hell and back all he longed for was her. She had unleashed him for the better, made him feel like a man he knew he wanted or could be. So why would she not look at him. Angered by her abandonment he burst out.

“ You know what you taught me? Jhalli you showed me to path to feel. You have given me courage to speak of them with it embrace in there glory. And now that’s all I have. I’m consumed by them. That I struggle to breath when I cannot let them out. I was hallow but you made me whole.” As he felt the quiver in his voice with just the thought of it.

Meanwhile Imlie watched him in his sleep as she had returned from the make shift kitchen. Listing carefully to each word he spoke. He was having a nightmare after the traumatic events of the day. The doctor had warned her of such happenings once the pain killers wore off when she had him tend his wounds. Her mother explaining that he would need her the most for his outer scars were nothing to the fear seeped within. She would have to be his shield and bring him back to her. Hence she had left her alone to attend to Aditya babu’s needs. It was not her place for it was a matter to be resolved between husband and wife. A mother worry kicking in Meethi new all else could wait till then.

Imlie had been at his bedside since. Damping a cloth to calm his fever every now and then. Watching him toss and turn in panic trying to raise his hands as if he was looking for something or some one. Could it be? Imlie wondered if he had been searching for her. Did he need her just like she needed him. Was she wrong to doubt his intentions. How did she manage to fall victim to the tales of the family? How wrong had she been about the man that lay in her as she moved closer into his bed.

Placing her hand gently on his cheek she felt him calm down. Snuggling within her palm he relaxed somewhat moving further into her folds. “ I’m sure I didn’t not meet you just for nothing. Are you my angel or my inner demons wishing to be set free. Why do I not will the moon when I can have the sun. Don’t you see I am afraid too. But I believe with you by my side I can overcome this phase too. So why will you not reach out to hold my hand as I will yours?” He ushered each word while he choked on his own tears. And that’s when he felt her hand slip in his own. Gathering strength from it Aditya tried again to fight of the light to embrace the darkness till he succeed at the sound of her voice.

A short while later Aditya slowly opened his eyes knowing it was her by his side. For he could feel her with the passing winds touching him with her essence telling him she was waiting. He gently looked up into her orbs yet what he saw made him feel ablaze in fury to only uttered the truth of his souls plight once more. How dare she lose hope with renewed strength he willed her name. It had been faint but Imlie had heard him for she had looked into the voice of his direction as he finally spoke “No Imlie! You’re wrong! You know who you are? You are Imlie Aditya Tripathi, my love, my wife and my only truth!" he declared. Simply shocked by his out burst.

Why would he want to bottle it up as it had never happened? She had felt so silly at that moment to even have thought such thoughts. He had never lied to her for they had always been open about there paths. So why did she let Anu auntie words bother her within. She had been angry somewhat disappointed but within Imlie had to admit that she felt most of all disheartened by the fact that she had lost him believing he had moved on and most of all his love once more to that of another.

But not anymore. Why should she be willing to sacrifice, herself for others that have never given a thought about her. Never cared to look back. Check if she had been okay or even safe. Her babusahib had done all that and more but she had pushed him away for the sake of a family she believed was hers but never felt of her as there own. Had she not learnt better from her Dadda whom had fought the lay of the land just so she could have it all her mother never did. He had always been clear on his believe that she had to fight and lay claim to what was hers, without worrying of others happiness except her own.

Weighed down by the guilt of it all she often struggled between her believes and her own happiness. Her soul yearned to be heard through her emotions yet her mind willed her another. Leaving Imlie to rest in wonder when she had walked away from her Babusahib even when she promised she would stay.

Hence Imlie still pondered could it be that her love was meant to be her ultimate sacrifice? And each time her pondering would render her speechless with the same answer No it was not! Taking this to be sign of her beloved Sita Maya she looked down at him as she instinctively started moving towards him, with her hands outstretched only to settle in his own.

“ And then there’s is you..” she murmured overwhelmed by his declaration of her being his wife. She slowly tightened her hold yet gently voices out her thoughts while feeling overwhelmed by it all. She looks around once more before she settles herself in his eyes whom look up at her in hope as she finally spoke “My soul binds me to you for I feel loved as its reflected in your eyes babusahib. There is a corner of my heart that is yours. We may have lost our way but time has bound us once more. I am imperfect yet in your eyes I feel beautiful. So I fear the day you leave, how will I deal with the struggle that empties me. That’s why it was easier to push you away then let you stay.” whimpering in subtle cry she carried on.

Only to hear his panic stricken voice shout out “ It was you. It was you all along. You were there! Weren’t you?” Imlie looked on surprised. What was he saying. Did he know? No it could not be he had never paid her any heed when he had married Maline didi. Aditya looked at her closely her eyes having always been her window to her soul just like they had been today. How could he forget the poem she had written and recited to him on the terrace garden after his argument with Maline. The one Maline had claimed as her own when he knew she was never interested in poetry. It had bothered him back then but he had dropped the idea of asking her after seeing the smiling faces of his family. Yet when he had shared his truth of his love for Imlie he knew he had to ask and so he did. Maline silence had proven that his thinking had been right all along. Imlie had loved him when he knew not what love was she lived in him while he was lost.

Feeling overwhelmed Aditya carried on saying what he should have said a long time ago “It was you all along. I am so sorry it took me so long to remember. It was you my soul willed, called and spoke too just as that poem you recited. Why did you never say?” Imlie looked on shocked.

“Babu…babusahib..” she grasped. “How did you find out?”

“ Does that matter? No I think not! But if you must your every act showed you up for your love was in your concern. In your scolding but most of all your phrases have given you away. Each and every word you recited back then spoke of your love that walked the halls of my heart. It must just have been me whom had become blind in my own hurt.” As he cried out his feelings shedding tears of his bruised soul.

Imlie knew it didn’t matter it never had. She knew why he had done what he had wanted but still hearing him say that he knew of her truth had made her feel so much more wanted then anything before. He not only grew in her respect but owned her heart. Trying to mask her exploding feelings Imlie tried to divert his attention. By shifting her focus on his wounds as an excuse.

Masking her love in worry as Imlie kept asking him if he was okay, lulling him in assurance as she tried. Tracing him all over several times whilst checking him for physical signs of pain. Telling him off with each scare she spotted for his folly. Yet Aditya was having none of it. He knew she was trying to derail his attention from the topic at hand.

But having believed that he had lost her for good this time he was not going to wait to have his chance again. It was so he grasped her hand in his to focus his attention back at his words he spoke “ Hey Jhalli, just walk with me and will figure out the rest later. Always remember you can chose what you want. But know this you have been chosen for. This is our truth. You make me crazy for that one laugh that makes my day. For you have seen me at my worst yet have embraced me for whom I am. What is there not to love about you! Do you not see, for you don’t cross my mind as you live in it.” Kissing her palm as he ushered each words to sooth her soul.

“So meet me in the middle where your faith binds our time. As I make you understand that I am afraid too but with you by my side I’ll drop those demons to embrace my wildest dreams.” Shivering in the end as he traced his watch that sat on her palm.

Feeling overwhelmed by his words she snuggled closer as she lay by his side. She had always hoped of a day were she could call him her own. How she would give up the entire world to sleep in his arms. Today she would just do that. Hugging him tight Imlie took a breath and let it go.

“ Can I curl up into your arms and let the beat of your heart sooth me to sleep? For I am so tired of running that when I fear you pull away I pull you in closer to remind you that you are forever mine!” Finally wrapping her hands around his waist to pull him in closer till there was no space left between them.

Surprised by her gesture he was not going to tell her to get over it but instead would show her how. Kissing her at her temple where he saw the sindoor hidden he let go of his final fear in a prayer “You are the anchor that holds me in place. So hush my love just look into my eyes as they calm you down. For Jhalli you’re beautiful and mine. So does that mean I am yours?.” Kissing his forehead she let him know he was wanted as much as he had wanted her. Finally allowing him to be free of his fear while his tears begin to heal them again.

Tomorrow would be another day where their resolves would be tested. But for know they knew they had a hand to hold on tight for all they needed was the bounty of there love which was as deep as the boundless sea. One that reaffirmed that he loved her as she loved him forbidden or not did no longer matter. The darkest hour had set in motion what all else had failed. For they had held strength in each other by letting go of there fears to welcome in the dawn of a new day.

Hi everyone,

The OS above is my take on the moment shared between Imlie and Aditya at the lodge after the rescue from Satyakaam punishment for hurting his beloved betiya. My take on the thoughts that Aditya would be going through as he reawakened from his ordeal to his heart to heart talk with Imlie alone as he awakens from his dream.

Happy reading.

Raaz 😊
