Hi Prats!
Thank you for making this wonderful post.
I am ready with my thesis. đ¤Łđ¤Łđ¤Łđ¤Ł
Bear with me, for I always have a lot to say. đ¤Ł
Before talking about Anokhiâs journey of love, let me talk about Love itself. Or to be precise my idea of it.
Letâs first establish that everyone has there own idea about love, and we all love/show our love in the way we understand love the best.
The beauty of Love is that, it can happen to anyone at any time. Sometimes it takes years for someone to fall in love with a person they have known all their lives, sometimes it just takes a minute to fall in love with a stranger who touches something in your heart, and sometimes the love builds over an attraction and admiration and an emotional connect. Recognizing those feelings is another ball game all together. So I donât feel that her realizations were rushed. Just that she was more layered in her expression of her feelings unlike Shaurya, whose restlessness we could see and know from his monologues.
I feel Anokhiâs journey into love falls in the third category i mentioned. The first time she saw Shaurya, her eyes were twinkling hearing his achievements and accomplishments. And added to that he was very charming and handsome. She was obviously not attracted to him then, but there was an admiration and intrigue. But, the next moment his disrespect towards Aastha made her see him in a different light. But I donât think Shaurya or Anokhi ever hated each other even when they were at loggerheads.
And how can I forget the dard dialogue. Despite standing at opposing ends, she is the first and perhaps the only one who could see the pain in his eyes, masked by the anger and abrupt behavior. How could she have seen that pain, if she hadnât looked closely and felt his vulnerability. How could she have even realized his hurt, if she hadnât been deeply emotionally involved with him by then. His words and gestures always effected her, as hers effect him. She would always wonder why he supposedly hated her so much. Why did his hatred bother her? She knew all the other Sabarwals also looked down upon her, but only his hate mattered to her. She wasnât in love with him then, but she was emotionally connected to him n did admire him as an educator and wanted his appreciation.
Then came the ragging track. Thatâs when the dynamics between them started changing. According to Anokhi, Shaurya hated her. But still he went against his family, his sisters, his board members to get her justice. She realized that no matter their personal equation, he will never let any injustice happen to her or anyone. That must have impacted her hugely and left a deep impression about Shaurya in her heart. I think thatâs when she started falling for him. Also him protecting her n Babli from Vineet had to have made a huge impact in her heart. The first man in her life, who abhorred physical abuse on a woman to control her. The first man to respect a woman! The seeds of love were sown then.
Aastha missing and riot track brought them even more closer. She saw how he fought to protect her. She felt protected for the first time in life, coz it has never been an experience in her life, she has always had to fight for herself. But, before she could revel in that feeling of being so protected by someone, they got separated. And it hurt her immensely to know that he left her alone. It hurt her very badly, coz she had the expectation from him that he Vil never leave her in danger like that. That is when both of them started feeling deeply for each other and felt disappointed also with each other.
And then came the library track, Anokhi had just moved on from the riot happenings and was again in awe of him for saving her from the goons. But his words, destroyed her. Only because it came from him. Only because she couldnât bare that, thatâs what he thought of her. It would have never impacted her so badly had anyone else said that. Had anyone else said it, she would have complained and fought for justice like during ragging track. She wouldnât have decided to leave. Her career and dreams behind. It is coz she had already started having deep feelings for him, and it was too much for her to take that the person she has started loving thought that about her. (She still hadn't realized that though)
And when he went to all that trouble to bring her back, apologize to her, and his truth of what happened during the riots track moved her. It bloomed the budding love in her heart. And when he encouraged her to not ever give up on her dreams for anyone and recognized her intellect and acknowledged that she was an asset to SIAC it sealed the deal for her. She started falling hard for him from then.
Also on the way back to Chandigarh, she was so comfortable with him. Even when they had slept literally in each otherâs arms, she didnât feel awkward in any way. I donât know about others, I will speak for me. As a woman, I always have this internal radar. I canât fall asleep so easily unless I trust the person I am with completely. She trusted him. N thatâs why there was no awkwardness between them ever.
Especially when he barged into the hostel. If she didnât have feelings for him, she would have kicked him out on his ass. Wouldnât have spent the night taking care of him without worrying about her reputation. Wouldnât have been so comfortable wiping his head and making him change. She wouldnât have taken that right on him. She was by then deeply in love with him, as was he. Their pre holi, holi banters just intensified her feelings for him.
Reema and Kanchan definitely gave them both a push. But not into love. They already were in love. They both gave them a push to realize their feelings respectively. Coz otherwise the kind of people they are, they would not have realized so easily or would have been clueless about others feelings as well.
During the Goa accident and kidnapping track is when Anokhi fell completely, irrevocably and intensely in love with him. Till then she knew she was in love with him, but she didnât know that she would love him for a lifetime. She faced all the humiliation for him and his love.
Many people had a problem when she went behind him to Goa. I am asking why not? If a man can go behind a girl whom he loves to clear their misunderstandings, why canât a girl go behind the man for the sake of their love. And thatâs how much she loves him.
This is my take on her journey into love with Shaurya.. So no, I never felt her realization to love was rushed. She may not have pondered it in so many words as Shaurya, but her actions definitely showed the effect he was having on her. She loves him as intensely and as passionately as he loves her. There is no doubt in that for me.
Phew!! That was a long one. Hope it wasnât a snooze fest for anyone. đđ
