Sabherwals choose their daughter in laws from middle class families who are less powerful and can be controlled and manipulated. I remember it was mentioned in one of the episodes.

What’s worse is when Kanchan is ready to take a stand, why does Gayatri hush her? Like stand up and fight. Jab tak bologe nahi toh aisa hi hoga. They need to take a stand. Agar pehle se hi bola hota toh shayad aisa naa hota because you know people take advantage of your goodness and silence and it’s not always good to stay quite.
