Yes... these things are a norm in society unfortunately and just not restricted to small towns or villages but also in big metro cities ( cases are less but still it is present)..

Also, a lot of you'll here say Virat's profession should have been anything but IPS.. I would disagree here and no offence to anyone.. BUT a person's education & profession unfortunately totally unrelated in such cases..

Have seen highly educated people in esteemed professions, financially well off behave worst than an illiterate poor small town/ village person.

Patriarchy and mindset to conform to the so called "societal norms, rules, etc" are so in grained in their minds while they are growing up that even the new generation don't find anything wrong in that... And although these patriarchal rules are made by Men, its the sad truth that its women who carries them forward and make sure they continue and are obeyed like a legacy.

In ghum case its Bk... and only a woman can harm another woman in worst possible way without guilt and regret.. And add Pakhi to this category ... she too is educated, so called modern girl but she too did not have an iota of guilt instead defended Bk and the reason she gave was disgusting and even shut SaiRat.

So true.. he had been introduced with Farz aur rishtey mei Farz bada..something on those lines..and he has zero guys to put them behind the bars.. Yes in real life that's the reason why officers are never involved in cases surrounding their family.. They end up punishing the wrong people or not punishing their own.. Like I have mentioned before his desire to punish Sai when she goes wrong as per him is extreme.. while with his elders.. it remains to be just disappointment.. which gets replaced yo respect and love in a day or two..😭

Exactly! I don't have that much problems with someone not being able to punish 'elders', as in real life probably (morally incorrect) I wouldn't be able to do it, I'm not that strong so who am I to judge someone else (but I also wouldn't forget it like Virat and be sweet and normal with them) . But pehle itne badi badi baatein kyun karta tha yeh!! 'Jazbaat se bada farz hai' etc, indeed! It's just messed up writing, it's sooo out of character for him, which frustrates me. Not the act itself, but that it's not him, not what they painted him like in the beginning.

I don't know how many remember it but when sai was spying d confidential meeting of virat & KJ with other police officers in GC after getting caught by virat when he said sai will be arrested KJ requested virat not to do so . I know sai mistake is no where near Cgang crime but still every person has a soft spot for his family .

Baadi baadi baatein karne mein or usse sach karke dekhne farak hota , if anyhow KJ had negative traits can sai send him to jail ? Do sai Joshi have guts to send KJ jail ? I have a doubt on this , Virat is no exception

If I m right police officer don't get d cases of their own families coz of biasness angle.

So true.

This kind of'family honour' exists in a lot of places in India. There was an entire web series in Tamil which focused on honour killing by parents for different reasons. It was the most chilling watch for me. Because they build up the stories with the love that exists before things go wrong!

I really hope they handle it well. Virat was back to normal with Omi. At least this time he needs to have a meltdown like he had when he was enraged because Sai got his his sister married to the wrong man !!

But I don't know if they will handle it well🤢

So many incidents

I was just wondering, what makes people do this? If you guys understand this mindset, do explain it to me as I am reading about WWII and it feels like humanity wasn't even a thing unless the person belongs to your nationality, ideology, or religion

We won't discuss all this but what makes people kill their daughter, just because they want to marry someone of their choice?

Then we had Jagtap

What is it which makes these people do these things?

There is a village in himachal pradesh where if a girl or boy falls in love against their families wish then both boy ,girl r killed & their dead bodied r carried in whole village & humiliated publically to set example.

When Omi got caught, everyone was mad at Virat for not arresting him. But I knew (and accepted) that Virat would not arrest him. With his upbringing and family involved in a crime is not something I expected Virat to handle well. Even now, I'm not really expecting him to put his family behind bars. He won't. He can't. And it is a truth that this happens in many homes - where the righteous fail to protect the innocent and let the guilty get away with their sins. We are thankfully not brought up in Virat's family - because we cannot predict how we ourselves would have reacted in these circumstances.

What I cannot digest is the brushing of the whole thing under the carpet. Whatever his flaws, Virat is intelligent. He realised how his family manipulated him into ousting ousting Sai for their own agenda. But what his reaction? He was mad at them for two days - now he is back to his normal self with them. No sense of betrayal or hurt - after all, he did believe that the elders cared about him. Virat may be weak, but he still has feelings.

Apart from his toxic upbringing, another reason Virat is very tolerant towards his elders' excesses against Sai & Ashwini (although unacceptable) is because he genuinely believes them to be good at heart. Any man of Virat's sensibilities & values will never respect the wrong people. Even now, I am not expecting him to put his family behind bars. But I want to see his emotions - his disillusionment, resentment, anger , emotionally removing himself away from his family, maybe even moving out of CN. But everything will be forgotten. Within two episode he will be like "Kabhi khushi kabhi gam". Even when it was evident that Devyani's mental condition was because of her past, his response was "let bygones be bygones".

I cannot connect with Virat's reactions at all. I do not understand what the writers are trying to project?
