I feel even if the acting is bad, they should give Dev more dialogues. I mean, it’s ridiculous... either he is quiet, or just tells the person in front to keep quiet and fall in line, whether it is Shiva or Rishitha. Say something, anything, beyond that! What is Dev thinking? Is he scared, happy, sad? What a way to butcher a character.
There are always valid reasons to keep quiet in certain situations and not always shout or make things worse. He could elaborate on why he says the things he says. I also feel, his dialogues are very misplaced. The times he needs to explain about his family or what he feels, he just stops with “Chup Raho”. But then in some other random sequence, he starts explaining to Rishitha, without any head or tail to what he is saying. No wonder Rishitha is such a confused, frustrated soul. I would be confused too.
Finally, yes Akshay is not a great actor. But only way he can improve is by giving him more scenes, not less. The more he is made to act and speak, the faster he will improve. I have actually seen series where ML/FL were terrible at first, but being forced to work with the character they have, they improved by leaps and bounds. Reducing the scope of Akshay’s acting is neither helping him nor the audience or the story. I would take bad acting any day, if they can justify the character. Have him say what the character Dev feels, how he thinks, how he wants to solve the issue at hand. Akshay will improve over time, and we can still connect somewhat with the character
