During the ceremony when Ishqi has her eyes closed, the first person she sees as she slowly opens them is Ahaan. Hence, she gets consumed in thoughts about him basically recapping all their moments and the song portrays her feelings. She sees that there is something bothering him... Think back to last week when she asks him if he was ok and what was bothering him. Ishqi can sense a certain sadness in Ahaan but she is not sure of the reason - if it is because of his mother, Sonu's wedding, etc - i dont even think she fathoms that the sadness is there mainly because he is in love with her. Hence the lyrics:

Tum ho gham ko chupaye, mai hu sar ko jhukaye

Tum bhee chup ho, mai bho chup hu, kaun kise samjhaye

Abb duriya itnee hain toh, milna yaha kal ho naa ho

The last part in lyrics re-iterates her feelings from the poem "darr unhe khone ka hai".

And today was Ahaan's point of view in the song.

Sach hai ke dil toh dukha hai, hamne magar socha hai

Dil ko hai gham kyon, aankh hai nam kyon

Hona hee tha jo huwa hai

Uss bat ko jane bhee do, jiska nishan kal ho naa ho

I dont think I need to explain as it is quite evident of the inner turmoil Ahaan is going through as this wedding slowly becomes a reality.

Let me say, this was brilliant. Awesome interpretation.

Sony should be foolish to end this. This show is doing better than a lot of other shows and from the track record, Gul's show run fine for 1 year and then the story line goes haywire. We have till 2022 Jan at least for this.

@esprit_00

The other person I genuinely feel bad for is Suman Aunty (and even Mayank's dad, with his minimal scenes, seems like a nice person). My personal wish is for them to adopt Ishqi and disown Mayank - i know it's too much to ask - but Mayank isn't worthy of such good parents.

I really want this to happen!! She deserves a family like theirs, Mayank in jail, that's what he deserves.

Ayaan's pain is actually far greater than Ishqi's in the sense that he doesn't really have the freedom to do what's right and choose his own happiness. We know he does if he really puts his mind to but the shackles of his upbringing and mindset are suffocating him. Param's eyes said all this, his tears, his desperation, seeing the woman who has his heart now almost becoming someone else's.

Ishqi can see what he's feeling and after the confrontation last night, her pride also prevents her from expressing her emotions to a man who doesn't even want to step up and admit his feelings, never mind fight for them. It seems more and more likely that Ahaan will think she walked out of her wedding because she loves him, not Mayank but I'd be sad to see Mayank go unpunished. It still bothers me that until she saw the scratch marks on Mayank's hand she was still planning to go ahead with the wedding, ignoring her feelings for Ahaan, rather than walking away from the wedding. Even if she doesn't marry Ahaan or tell him how she feels, she shouldn't marry Mayank when she clearly knows where her heart is. I guess falling in love has clouded her judgement, in the wrong way but I don't blame her. It happens.

So true... And the saddest part is no one ever bothered to notice his pain and showed any genuine concern for him. Yes they love him like family but they’ve easily put all responsibility on his shoulders - I think Kartik is the only one who kind of understands his feelings but again Ahaan is so guarded around his own family that he doesn’t give them a chance to notice. Plus Kartik knows there is a line he can’t cross with Ahaan so while he tries to make his elder brother realize his feelings, it’s not welcomed. And Dadi is the most selfish person in all this.

Ironically, it is Ahaan who was drawn towards Ishqi - hence the constant need to lecture her, help her and be angry with her. Those are emotions you usually show those you are closest to - people who mean something to you. Unknowingly he let his guard down around her and when he finally understood the underlying connection they shared (growing up without parents and having to fend for yourself) , that fortress he had built around his heart crumbled. A part of him knew Ishqi would be the one to understand him completely.

And now the more he sees her for who she really is, he cannot but love her.

I don't want to compare but he's fallen harder for her than she has, I think. He has much much more at stake. He's always the responsible person, always doing things for others, but this is the one thing he has for himself, and he's depriving himself of it too. I felt so sorry for him when he rushed to Rhea and spoke about the wedding, whereas Kartik saw his face change the moment Ishqi appeared.

Also, in the kaleerein scene, his heart was breaking seeing the girl he loves, Ishqi, do the ritual for the girl he claims he loves but doesn't, Rhea so that she could be the next bride.

You hit the nail on the head.

I think we all agree that he is deeply in love - whereas Ishqi isn’t there yet. We may see her feelings come to play after the wedding fiasco.
