I loved the statement of "Parvathi" that Kabir singh was glorified while taking example of joker that it wasn't glorification. (Interview with Anupama)

Yup

People have started glorifying toxic men like him, supporting men slapping women

There has been a change and the change is that these people who always had this mentality got an agency/ platform to express their views freely, now they know there are more like them so they won't be shunned

My junior in college supported Kabir being drunk while doing a surgery saying Most doctors get drunk before surgery

One more junior always enters class like Kabir's entry in the movie

Point being, people do admire this man

No atleast not on any large scales.

Too many people just refuse to take responsibility for their own lives

Their just movies.

I’m watching some daily soap where the guys wife leaves and he bangs relative . Now I’m not gonna go do that 😆

Oh no.....

But to be honest, I've seen it all in terms of defending Kabir's character. On this forum, someone told me that Kabir slapped his gf because he was a feminist 🤣 I was speechless.

I don't know if they impact society but they sure tell us that society is one hell of mess . How do so many people end up liking these?

Yes. They do impact. Maybe not to everyone. But they do impact impressionable youth/teens.

Parvathy perfectly described the problem with the film in this interview.

Films like Kabir Singh should be make, as long as there isn't any glorification.

I once discussed this with one of my colleague and she was like but dekho kitna pyar karta hai usko 🤢 so yes people do think this kind of character is perfectly fine whereas this is toxic

My teenage/ young adult female cousins/acquaintances were swooning over Kabir (on their insta and conversations) and how he was a passionate and possessive bf - something that they feel is needed in a partner.

I hope not but They might even date a Kabir Singh but once reality sets in of how difficult it is to handle such a person, they’ll probably understand he is not swoonworthy/or even a decent human.
Idk how many of them will act on it, but it did make abuse okay in their young and impressionable minds - atleast till they get a physical demonstration of it (hope they never have to)
