Ram is born on ramnavami which is also the auspicious occasion of Vasanti puja.

according to Shree Shree Chandi, by orders of medhas rishi, king surath and samadhi vaishya had inaugurated teh worship of Devi durga in spring time.this is the time, the gods stay awake.( from spring equinox till autumn equinox)

long time back, when mahisasura was plundering the world,Devi durga incarnated herself as the daughter of Katyayan Rishi, As nine year year old girl Katyayani, and listened to the plea of all the distressed gods.

on Mahashtami, ie day before ramnavami she become mother Annapurna, giving food to all the ailing and helpless gods. on this day she dressed herself to fight Mahisasura.

on navami, there ensured the final battle. years later, Shree ram was born on this day.

on dasami she finally killed mahisasura.

before fighting ravan , ram needed to have power and blessings of goddess Durga, mother of all so that she will help him and take no offense in his killings.

since autumn is the time to rest, Ram awoke her from her rest by performing akal bodhan.

on astami, devi durga came to her life/her full form,

at sandhipuja, between astami and navami she entered into Ram's weapons and gave them required strength, and we all know what followeed in navami and dusserra.

So there exists a sort of connection eveywhere

even if we consider all of these as mere stories: its good to see how the storytellers linked all the incidents with seasons time situatiuon and science

ram is the incarnation of Lord vishnu but as a human incarnation, he had to face the tests of mother superior Durga.

fo purnahuti and pushpajani, 108 blue lotus are required for devi durga.

to judge ram's faith and belief and his strong will( nishtha) , devi made the lotuses hard to find and also hid the final one. when ram , in halfway of puja, saw one lotus missing, he promptly took his bow and arrow ready to pick one of his eyes - as all know he was born with lotus eyes and everyone regarded them as blue lotus eyes( hmm sound like nordik origin, blue eyes😆)

so, as he was going to pluck his eye, devi durga appeared, she was overwhelmed by his patience , forbearence and his devotion and promised to leave ravan's side and be with him.

then follwoed the maha yudh

I m a bengali. It believed amongst us that Sri Ram started that tradition of worshiping Durga in Sharad Ritu ( spring season). He did Chandi Puja. Ram wanted blessings from Ma Durga before killing Ravan. He decides to do a special puja with 108 blue lotuses. Sri Ram starts puja. His puja was almost finished. After offering 107th Blue lotus. He does meditation. Devi Durga comes in front of him in a invisible form. She hides the last flower. when he opens his eyes he finds that the last flower is missing. Ram becomes very sad that he couldn't complete his puja. Blue lotuses were rare in Lanka. Ram thinks that he must complete he puja within Shubh Muhurth. Suddenly he reminds that his mother Kausalya use to call him "Rajeev Nayan". He decides to offer his eye as 108th flower. He takes an arrow n aims his one eye. Ma Durga gets pleased. She immediately appears and holds Ram's hands n prevents him from offering his eyes. She says that she is pleased with his devotion n gives him blessings

Sri Ram killed Ravan on Dashami.

That why in Bengal n Assam Dusherra in known as Vijaya Dashmi

Sri Ram worshiped Ma Durga in Sharad Ritu (spring). That's why She is also known as Shaarodiya in Bengal n Assam
