Toshi does not need to bring unneccessary harkatey, Murkiyaan aur Sargam to a song where it is not needed. Improvising and fixing a song which does not require can really make a mess out of a song which he did with Teri Diwani. I was turned off by him. I loved Sharib & his singing and but can't say same abt Toshi 😳

I would give him 6 if I were a judge 😳

Raja did pick right song from Guru but was not himself for some reason. He has sung same song a lot better. He could have really kicked some butt with it. But the harsh comments he received from JA was not necessary.

His dard e disco was good. Raja is fantastic singer in certain genre and brings great emotions which can touch audiance.

Emon was not better than Toshi or Raja. But Emon did not over sing either songs like Toshi did. I personally don't like Emon's voice and his lisp really bothers me but that is my opinion only. I think Emon got the marks he deserved.

I agree with everything else in your post, but I'm confused about what you mean by harsh comments by JA towards Raja. In the promo it seemed like JA was being harsh, but when I actually saw the episode, I didn't find anything of the sort. He gave Raja an 8 out of 10 and said that he sang really well. The only negative comment he made was that Raja's voice sounded old-fashioned and he needed to work on his style. I personally don't really see what JA meant, but it was his opinion and he has a right to state it. He even said it very nicely. Are people hearing something I'm not? I'm totally confused...

SS,

JA's comments about Raja were "Raja you can't be a playback singer b/c your voice sounds old fashioned and need to work on your style" Now telling someone that they can't ba playback singer is harsh IMHO. Raja can very well be great stage performer as well as playback singer in his specific genre. Ofcourse JA knew Raja's potential and probably had watched him sing b4 so gave him 8. So in a way his own comments contradicted his marks 😳

JA has been one of my fav judges. I just found the bickering between judges bit strange 😕

^ I think you're making it sound harsher than it was. Javed sahib never said that Raja can't be a playback singer. He just said that he found that comparitively Raja's voice had less of the sophistication and modern quality that current playback singers should have. His only motive was to encourage Raja to work on his style so that the general public will be more accepting of him as a playback singer. I think Shekhar was being very immature to try to challenge Javed sahib's statement. He should have just stated his own opinion without trying to imply that there was anything wrong with Javed sahibs. After all, an 8 is not a bad score...I think it was perfect for that performance.

Here is the full statement by Javed sahib to support my argument: "Bahut achcha gaya aapne Raja. Bahut achcha gaate hi hain aap. Lekin aapke gaane ke andaaz mein koyi aisi baat hai jo mujhe aisa lagta hai ke yeh mehfil ka gaana hai. Aapke gaane ke andaaz…jo aaj modern jo andaaz hai, jo sophistication chaahiye, jaise playback singing ke liye chaahiye, woh mujhe muqaablatan kam lagta hai. Aapko apni aawaaz pe aur apne andaaz pe thoda kaam karna chaahiye is liye ke yeh aaj ki awaaz lagne ke bijaye thodi puraani awaaz or puraana andaaz lagta hai. Phir bhi kyoon ke aapne gaaya bahut achcha hai to main aap ko itne points doonga."

Sorry dont agree,Toshi & Raja are wonderful singers but can only sing superbly in their own genre while Amit & Emon are wonderful singers as well but Amit has an original voice & can sing superbly in more genres than Raja or Toshi.
They all have their individuality but for me Amit is the best.
