Love your statement- It is not that Babli and Rama have not had options but they have chosen not to pursue them. They feel trapped and continue to blame their fate because they themselves do not believe in that empowerment. Sad but true! Bhalla's neighbours were very supportive of Rama , Ahir has offered help to Babli several times now but they have swept it under the rug. Interestingly while we blame the males for regressive thought process, it is actually women who are feeding it and propagating it - Bebe to papaji and Bhai, Babli's MIL to Vineet and Devi in Sab house. I was surprised when Shagun today mentioned in today's episode that Devi has always managed to wrap Shaurya around her fingers, she can do the same again. She called Anokhi's chasing her dreams - middle class mentality feminism. In some ways did Shagun not validate Devi and accept that regressive thought process...so much for education in Cambridge and women empowerment.
