Chapter 1

He entered his room with calmness over his face. Few hours back he discovered all the misunderstanding he had regarding Pallavi were wrong. It seems like end of a very long journey started from burning her stocks in middle of the night. He poured in the drink and took a sip gazing out the window towards sky. Lost to the point that he didn't even notice Pallavi entering the room furiously as he had humiliated Deshmukhs's in his party few hours back after which he received the call and left them shattered.

P - What u did today wasn't right. I know u want to hurt me but insulting my family after inviting them here is low. I know since past 2months of marriage ur single aim is to destroy my life but this was low even for u. And for what, ur silly revenge for the things...

R - U havn't done.

Pallavi was shocked to hear that. He knew. From when and if so then why he still keeps on doing this. She collected her thoughts and asked.

P - U knew this still u keep torturing me and my family. Y? Aren't u sick of being alone urself that u want everyone to be. Ur amma and keerthi already left the city because of ur actions. Y do u want to ruin my family too.

R - U take some rest. Its already late.

He was same cold and distant that he ever had been. Pallavi left cursing him to go to her room while Raghav keeps his gaze towards stars. Next evening she waited for him on dinner table to inform him of her decision. But he never came. At midnight, She heard some noise outside and went outside to check to find Raghav. Seemed like he had dropped some vase. Drunk again will talk tomorrow she thought and tried leaving to her room when Raghav saw him.

R - Do u need anything?

She realized he was sober and decided to talk with calmness as much as possible.

P - Raghav I know u married me for ur revenge and have made my life hell for each day in past two months. But its enough now. I can't be in this marriage anymore. I have already got the papers ready and u just sign it. I don't want to play this sick game of urs anymore. U sign this and I will go back to my house first thing tomorrow morning. Here are the papers.

R - Sure. Just bring those papers here and i will sign.

Startled by his agreement, she found herself lost of words. She never thought it would be this easy to make him agree on this. She thought it might be some trick and tried to maintain her demeanor.

P - I am not ur servant and neither ur culprit no matter how many stories u keep cooking in ur head. Ask Farhad to get papers to u. Where is he anyhow havn't seen him from yesterday.

R - I know u havn't done any of the things i accused u of so forget all those things. Farhad is on an assignment. And do u want these to be signed. I don't have whole night. Bring papers here or else forget it.

So he really knows that I am not involved in any act he accuse me of. Still so much arrogance that can't even apologies. Really what apiece of shit this guy.

Pallavi though furious thought to get this done with and handed over papers to him which he signed in zip and returned. Thats easy she thought. She took the paper and saw him standing in exact same place he was standing for past 5 minutes. She ignored and went to her room happy to finally have put the lid on darkest chapter in her life. Raghav stumbled into his shower and stood below the running water with crimson draping down on the floor.

Next morning, Pallavi woke up early and packed her things. She informed Deshmukh's previous night and Nikhil had come to pick her up. She asked him to keep everything in the cab and went to Raghav's room to inform about her leaving. As she opened the door, no one was found on bed. It was proper clean and made up. She looked for Raghav and heard running water from shower. So he is in shower, No courtesy good bye then, she thought and left. It was a strange good feeling after a long time and she finally felt free.

Six months passed and it had been the best six months for Pallavi. DSE has been in profit for past 2 months. She has already deposited money for showroom in mall and Mansi and Rahul also got back and are to be married in next few weeks. Everything was good after a long time. Pallavi planned celebration in night and thus was rushing back home when she saw a familiar face.

P - Farhad... how are u? After so long and how is ur anna.

Farhad got a bit surprised with line of questions.

F - Pallavi Ji... I am good and i thought of asking u the same. How's anna. I am still shocked what happened. He never told me reason to fire me. Didn't got courage to get to him in past six months. I saw u today so thought to ask u how is he. Everything is fine right?

P - Fired??? when???

F - Six months back. On the night of party he threw. Afterparty he went to find out some truth. Didn't know what happened but after returning he was cold and unrecognizable. He just called all the house help and me and said u all r fired and left. I tried reaching him but he never picked. I am still not sure what i did wrong. I hoped u might know. Anna might have informed u.

Pallavi was both shocked and numb on hearing that. He fired Farhad. How can he? They were like brothers and why he lied to me. She had too many questions and no answers. Now she remembered. No house help was there the day she left. What exactly happened was making her head spin.

F - Pallavi Ji... Pallavi Ji... what happened? U didn't told how's anna and do u have any idea what i did wrong.

P - No...No.. I don't have any idea. We have been divorced for six months. I now live with my aai-baba.

F - Divorced... so..so who is with anna... how is he?

P - I don't know. I don't...

but this was amazing, Raghav out of radar for 6 months. this was really good

Chapter 2

She entered his room and found no one. Her heart was pounding fast enough to find voice of its own. Raghav...Raghav... her voice almost pleading to know what happened. Where is he? She composed herself and thundered "Is anybody there". A house help came which she didn't recognized.

HH - Yes Mam...may i help u? Who do u want to meet?

P - Where is Raghav? Get him here at this moment.

HH - Mam... Sir don't take visitors at home. Please tak...

P - I asked where is Raghav Rao?

The voice was calm but was enough to shake the help. She was not sure who this woman was but was sure of her authority and stature.

HH - Mam.. Sir is in Stud..

Pallavi had heard enough and was in the study next moment where Raghav was sitting looking at empty table. He looked normal and thats when her heart took the proper beat in a while but the very next second all her temper raised in her eyes. She grabbed him by the collar, pulled him up and next was a tight slap.

Next few minutes were followed by silence. Her eyes were narrating stories of anger, frustration, helplessness, guilt but relief. His eyes were empty. No emotion, no questions, no hope and no life. The room was in silence but storm was brewing in two pair of eyes or atleast one. She finally broke the silence.

P - Why u lied?

R - About?

P - So u have lied about so many things that u need the specifics.

R - Pallavi... what have i lied about?

How come he is so calm after doing all this, lying to me, treating his brother like that, signing those papers withou..

She in last thought was stopped mid way. His calmness was deafening and making her impatient. She was anxious as his calmness looked more like the lifelessness. Is he fine?

P - U fired Farhad and other house help and got the new staff. Why?

Now will come a witty remark starting with who are u to ask and ending with I am Raghav Rao.

R - They behaved like family. I need staff.

What..? What he means by that and what has happened to his eyes. Why can't I see anything in that? Is he fine?

P - What u mean by that. Family.. staff?

R - I need people to work which i got now.

P - and Farhad?

R - He have a jo.. will get a new job like everyone else.

Again the silence followed. The chirping of birds, the humming of bees even their breath can be heard but no words. Both were standing there as if words were limitation for the conversation they were having.

P - Are u alright?

She asked.

There was again that silence in the room. It almost felt the time has frozen to give these two every bit they need.

P - Are u alright Raghav Rao.

Again she asked something she very well knew the answer too.

R - Yes Pallavi Sawant.

P - Not sawant.

She turned away to go but her mind was still buzzing.

What happened to him. He is not fine but why. Is he still...

And she stopped. Turned to see him. He was still looking at her. She turned back to the door and left. And thats when he swallowed that gulp he had in his throat for this long. He touched his cheek, red with the slap. She was here, he thought.
