Looks like the premise is that the FL is a raging believer of gender equality. ML is a male chauvinist. But all the ads till now show the FL always in some sort of trouble. The ML has to repeatedly step in to save her.

The FL is the definition of a damsel in distress. And such characters cannot pretend to believe in gender equality

They have not shown anything as of now which shows FL as a damsel in distress. She stands up for herself and put forward her POV clearly.

Of course, she doesn't have parents but so did ML. Both are kind of orphans. She is not looking for any savior but a partner with whom she can share her life. As much as she needs an understanding partner, male lead also needs someone who brings happiness to his life. It will be complimentary relation.

Oh okay. I've only seen ads. In one the FL argues with the ML, but then faints on the road & is saved by ML. In another she's stuck in a lift. Again ML shows up there

Yes, she falls on the road as she is a diabetic patient and was fasting for the whole day. ML goes behind her as it was a late night. He takes her to the hospital but she did not really take his help. She scolds him and leaves him alone to her home without his help.

They haven't shown the lift scene yet in the show. I think that is the new promo. I am not sure how that will play out in the show but that has some significance to the story. FL has list of qualities she is looking for in her partner. At one point she says when you love someone, you think of him/her in time of need. So they want to show that she thinks of him when she was stuck in the lift.

It would be wrong to say that he never helps her. He does but so does she. She said sorry to mean sunty save his sister so that he doesn't have t listen to the taunts of others. In the future, we don't know what they would show but for now, it seems very equal relationship.

I'm loving Ahaan Ishqi's relationship a bit now, he's trying to understand her and make things better/easier for her especially around Sarla aunty.
