Watched Today's episode..

Observed few things in the show and about people's perception.

1. Earlier I thought if not for Imlie, may be Aditya and Malini's marriage would have survived.. They won't be leading very happy married life, but seeing there ignorance towards complicated issues, they would have managed to stick together...

But today's episode made it very clear that Aditya and Malini's marriage was never meant to survive. They have too many issues, too many differences in there ideologies. Aditya must be very ignorant and avoider that he never confronted these issues. While Malini came across as people pleaser in relationships.. She maintained a fake image in front of Aditya to avoid getting into arguments.

Very rightly Aditya said, Imlie or no Imlie, this relationship was never meant to sustain. Its one thing to tolerate each other 2-3 hours a day. Imlie just accelerated the process may be. The forced marriage really triggered Aditya towards Malini more and in order to prove destiny wrong he went ahead with marriage, else i doubt it would have happened. Aditya took 7 years to decide that he will marry Malini, while with Imlie, he didn't even took 7 months.

2. Is it possible that to the some extent the liking for Malini over Imlie is due to the overall external personality? Like may be Malini walking around as a beautifully dressed up, well groomed, sophisticated, polite and well spoken daughter in law is preferred over raw, unconventional, plainly dressed Imlie, with rural accent.

That could be the reason that people connect more with her? At times I have seen Imlie being bashed, criticized and judged harshly over other characters. Not in forum, but generally.

Is the external appearance could be the factor that Imlie as a character isn't been appreciated enough?

PS: These are just few observations.. Could be wrong as well..

Please keep discussions healthy. Looking forward to hear your opinions.

What you observed about adi - malini relationship is exactly true. For him the relationship was hassle free, convenient, and I think malini only sticks to this relationship to avoid to become like her parents.

Yes that's true. Basically Adi had never been in love and what he felt for Malini, essentially a feeling of close friendship and slight infatuation, he mistook it to be love. That's what we see in the conversation that's shown as flashback with Aparna. And as for Malini, she herself confessed Infront of God's Murti, that monologue she had which was completely unnecessary, that Apne Best Friend se pyaar kiya taaki koi problems na ho. Basically, she's so scared that her relationship shall turn out like her parents so she does everything to avoid it. Being people pleaser, forgiving fast etc which are all accelerated by this fear, so much so that it dosen't even matter to her that she's running away from conflict, from facing problems, which is of no use because running away from them is not a permanent solution! It's just a temporary cure. Their relationship always has been so formal. I don't see that affection at all in their relationship.

And Adi and Malini, their priorities and needs in life are actually different. For Adi, his work comes first. Malini claims to be okay with it but she isn't actually. It was okay before when they were dating because he used to give her attention as well after his work. But after marriage, it wasn't so due to a number of reasons. Early days of marriage were still okay but slowly Adi did drift away from Malini. Malini I feel wants a partner who pays attention to her, whose world revolves around her. She wants attention, love and care, which are specifically and solely for her. All her life she has been seeing her parents fight. They were so engrossed in their own problems and fights that they never realised their daughter needed their attention and care, not just expensive toys, clothings etc. She grew up without this and subconsciously she yearns for that attention and care.

here's what i have to say..

I believe they would have sticked together, they had a good level of understanding and respect for each other. every relationship doesn't have sparks flying, lrc.

Adie's view on longevity of his marriage with malini is incorrect as per me. this man was obsessed with malini "moon moon" when with her, and now with imlie. his behaviour has turned according to his realizatoion. one would never know the real answer.

Even though mrs C was nasty from day 1 , malini stood up and always supported adi, and he was satisfied by her all this while. Even now what he seeing is her behaviour but not her fear, his "dum ghut-ta hai" comment came from instances where malini is asking him what has changed in their room when they were alone and her nasty words for imlie on that sindoor incident.

when he was married to imlie he put her in dock, and after his realisation they both have put malini in the dock.

malini is blamed coz "madam" fainted hearing the truth and scared the day lights out of adi..but adi and imlie are to be understood because they are unable to tell the truth for some greater reason. this thinking is just bias and nothing else.

imlie's dressing and loud talk believe do make a difference, but i guess not for adi.

I agree imali dress etc not effect adi. He was rude to her dye to forced marriaage only .

Both imali adi is opposite to each other. Due to this adi love her.

He realise it later when he was stop become rude to her .

Well, I feel the certain lack of connection was there since day 1 between them. The thing is, he was all smitten by Malini when they were dating, but after marriage, living together, may be he realized the obvious incompatibility. I am not talking about sparks flying, they didnt even have basic companionship else Aditya wouldn't have lied to her. And when he revealed the truth, she apparently was unable to take it like many other things that happened. Malini tries to show her self as understanding, but she is not..

That for sure doesn't make Aditya any right.

While about Mrs. C, the way she insults people, its natural for them to harbor grudge and I rather not talk about Malini's stand against her mother, when she is in insulting spree. I have never seen her try hard enough to stop her from insulting her inlaws or husband. Malini just want to be in good books of everyone i feel that's why she never showed her true side completely which is coming out now..

Not once I justified Imlie or Aditya for hiding this. But I just explained there pov, the way people here explain malini's. Some one other than Malini too can have emotional baggage and issues.

By Imlie's dressing and rural background, I mean the public's perception about her. Malini is looks more like 'wifey material' due to her outer bahu personality, while Imlie is more of a unconventional and unruly beauty in contrast to Malini,

May be that's why people thinks Malini is better, adding on to sympathy factor, specially the ones who do not watch show
