Ive seen people justify him saying he is nuanced. Like no, there is no nuance, its just a character (badly-written) to suit the sadistic taste of the audience.

TBH, I don’t think anyone is either trying to justify him or to say that he is nuanced. Experienced people are only trying to point to this kind of blatant patriarchy that is the reality of a lot of women in this country. I can believe this because I’ve seen a few such instances myself. I personally cannot relate to it nor digest it.

Virat is going to mess up if we go by that version!

🤣🤣🤣

Ill need to pass on the baton in that casešŸ˜†

And the wife still finding time to solve household family matters all the time. There is hidden patriarchy everywhere.

Here here see.. Mahaan FL if not abusive ML..I agree here shambu taka...

I dont follow IF posts on Ghum herešŸ˜†, im talking about opinions on other social media...ive seen people, read teenagers, trying to justify Virat's behaviour which is what my initial concern was!

lf. I personally cannot relate to it nor digest it.

Have seen it myself, pointed it on other thread as well.. Something happened on similar lines on what happened in this show to a friend of my roomate's.. She called her crying late at night that she is being asked by her husband to leave the house which was a result of a brawl and she somehow convinced him to not do that...She had left her job to stay with her husband in a new town.. They have had bad fights before also... My roommate vehemently asked her to leave him and get back to her hometown, we arranged for her tickets and she did go back to her family. Everyone in her family was with her, no one forced her to get back.. However when the husband came back apologising to her, landed on her feet, told her he loves her and she knows he does, reminding her of better moments.. and she said she could not see him that way beemar and all.. she loves him and he loves her too, its just sometimes in anger he loses it all..

Rest is history.. Cycle still continues..

100% correct. This is the problem of having such a show during primetime. Sending a wrong signal to young girls that such behaviour is fine - because after all the guy loves her . Most girls are not empowered or self-confident - they are in danger of trying to be rehab centres for their romantic partners.

I have decided to give up watching this and maybe even SAAKK . It just does not make sense .

We watch TV for some.entertainment and all this just gives me heartburn or makes me upset. The way they portray how a ideal woman should be and all that shit. Even men are slot as something else . It just paints a different picture

All that emo abuse , the hints at physical abuse, the gaslighting and justification of abuse under the love tag I think I give up atleast for now

Even my Amma fav serial Anupama has this over sacrificing FL.

U rather read amazing stories on various forums and spend time doing something else

That is so so painful!

I may have mentioned it in the thread, but one of my bestie was in abusive relationship for years...her bf would check our girls' group convos, he would physically restrain her, verbally abused her and my friend grew up in a way that made her submit to the guy every single time. She never told us anything because she's grown up to believe that its his love that made him do that. She only broke up while he was away for studies when he made r*pe threats. My friend, a well established woman left her job, and ran to another country at the news that the guy was coming back. That's how toxic it is, and that's how it should be portrayed.

I will abstain from talking about other shows.

I know how ITV is and really it thrives on certain tropes that won't go away, no matter how much you want. See, they hire qualified writers for these shows, and as long as you can see the writer making it very obvious that yes we are showing this, but it is not okay and the person needs to redeem themselves and grow out of that phase, it would work for me. But, no 2 secs reactions or apologies that you don't mean.
