Exactly, its not whitewashing anymore because she gave the saree that she was wearing. If "mahaan" dikhana hota to they would have shown her giving a different saree and with the dialogue that said she is happy in Imlie's happiness. But the saree became a symbol of unhappiness, so she wanted to get rid of it plus her dialogues that they cannot be happy at the same time was all her grey shades. It showed that she was actually not happy in Imlie's such a big achievement or press conference. Plus the other thing that was so pointed was that she said "no one" knew about her disappointed so she could not do her usual tricks in front of the family to show how bad Aditya is. Hence, she did it in front of Imlie who was the only witness to the whole thing, in the process cutting her down too.

I get that she is trying to save her marriage, trying to find that connect back with Aditya but the thing is she always knew that Aditya gives priority to his work over her. She always knew that and married him knowing that fact. Hence, the lady who was all OK with Aditya leaving his engagement and giving priority to his work but making this drama over a date was something that just felt very weird and almost look like a tantrum. Hence, I feel its not whitewashing any more.

100 baaton ki ek baat, Pam....what kind of woman trying to "save" her marriage thinks a DATE will solve the issue when her husband STILL hasn't answered for those 4 missing days?😆.....She STILL doesn't know where he went, but she's planning romantic fantasies instead?😆.....she really thinks doing some mushy talk over dinner will rekindle their relationship when he is LYING to her?😆.....that is where I find it even harder to believe if she's actually wanting to save her marriage or just needing some pampering to satiate her own need for attention.

Her entire excitement over that date, the way she was giggling/gushing to herself about "aakhon ke ishaare"😆, she was acting like a giddy teenager rather than a worried wife who should be happy ki ek chance milega again to ask him for answers.

This again brings me back to what I said some time back....Malini has never been ready for marriage....she is still a teenager in her mind caught up in romantic fantasies rather than understanding the realities of how to nibhaao a marriage. In her head, she just wants to go back to the time they were dating cuz she felt pampered by things like that....marriage is a reality check where you get caught up in the daily grind and that is when you truly get the measure of a partner who can stand with you. Malini has shown so far that she is totally incapable of dealing with the daily grind of marriage unless she still keeps getting her dose of pampering now also.....which is why despite such a big obvious chasm between her and Adi right now, her idea of "solutions" is a mushy date😆.....the wheel of time only moves forward, Malini didi....it doesn't go back. You will need to grow up to accept this reality.

What irony na....that she's older than Imlie, but her fantasies are even more childish than Imlie's😆....Imlie, despite still being so young has a mature samajh of life and relationships....a rooted approach to life rather than being caught up in teenage fantasies.

I was also finding it very amusing that Malini even feels the need to get pampering from Imlie who is younger than her😆.....the way she was preening over Imlie complimenting her over her outfit/getup for the date😆....so happy to be basking in attention/compliments from someone....that is all Malini really wants at the end of the day....the marriage is incidental😆.....the marriage just became a means to "lock down" Adi to herself but otherwise what she really wants is just a daily shower of compliments/attention and she thinks that's the sum of life😆.....woh mil jaaye toh baaki sab theek hai.....chaahe pati jhoot bhi bol de😆....it's obvious she really doesn't want to know the truth....she just wants attention/pampering from Adi and she will be willing to ignore any lies for that😆.

I was dreading another painful round of Didi nautanki but Adi ne kya FIREWORKS dikhaaye us scene mein.....lol I think what set him off was Malini's resentful whining about "Imlie second hi toh aayi hai, why is it so important for you to cover this story".....he started off with a spiel on how this story is important so that all the girls across the country are aware of Imlie's story as an inspiration to them....what all she's overcome when most other girls her age don't get to complete 10th or are forced off into marriage at 18....that Imlie has still managed to prevail and is on her path to independence....it brings out such a visceral reaction in Adi....he feels that journey/that victory personally now too. Then ofcourse cuz he had fully worked himself into a full funk over this, he didn't stop there and continued on with how he knows Imlie tries to act brave ki woh sab sambhaal legi but he knows she will need him there at the press conference and woh akeli ghabra jaayegi....aww Babusahib😆....when we get these little in the flow moments that show how much Adi has come to know her...it's very touching.....he says that he knows she can face every challenge in life on her own dum but that doesn't mean that she should HAVE to do it alone na....aww he so badly just wants to support her in every way....and to such an extent that he didn't even hold back from expressing in front of Malini that he wants to stand with Imlie and wants to show her that whenever she needs him, he will be with her.....HUMESHA😆.....and for good measure, also added that Imlie jaisi ladki uske gaaon mein toh kya, pure desh mein nahin👏...

Itna sab sunne ke baad did you think Didi will get a clue? Na baba na😆....as expected, Didi lost all interest in the date she was so hyped about and just went and dumped that sari on Imlie to show her "generosity" 😆.....this follows the usual pattern of whenever Didi notices Adi giving Imlie importance, she finds a way to show that she is also being meherbaan on Imlie....toh aaj sari de di😆. Baaki I won't get into Didi ke passive aggressive sugary comments to Imlie in that scene😆.

Ahh as someone said that on the thread that we like our caring, sweet, Aditya but the Aditya who does not back off from his own values and is figinting for his jhalli, is a sight to behold. How I was missing this version of this. 😊

Long back we had discussed that Aditya normally does not bother arguing or gives up to Malini unless its concerns his values, work or Imlie. Today fight was the combination of all three. This interview has been as much a part of their journey as they themselves. It was referred to when they were in the hut when their journey began and it was referred to when they (tried to😆) go their separate paths at the bus stop. There was no way Aditya was going back on his promise to his jhalli. Plus he has been witness to the hardships that Imlie has gone through to reach this stage including a forced marriage. This story is the representation of the values that is core Aditya, the reason he became the patrakar which is to bring the actual truth out to the world. The values and the work were one reason, the other was Imlie herself. Not because of her achievement but now he knows her enough to know that she will required the saath. He knows that she is fully capable without his support and does not need it She has the capability to do it but he wants to give her the saath, just be there with her, always and forever. It really surreal the way these small snippets show us how much Aditya knows Imlie and how much he meant when he gave her that first vachan in those woods of PD. That Imlie would always have the right to choose. He is never going to push his decisions on her nor force her to do something that is against her will. He just wants to be with her and just walk the path with her as she achieves the success that she so deserves. May be I am wrong, but sometimes I feel that this so against the core Aditya which was "my way highway" kind of a person that it really shows how much he cares for her to make that compromise, give that leeway or go that extra mile just to make her happy. 😊

He went against the editor because there was no use of a job where he could not do a story that was so meaningful to him and he stood against Malini because she failed to understand the importance of this story for him. Did he really expect her to because frankly I felt it all went over her head after hearing her response and I am not kidding Hence, word on @bold2😆

@blue Kya baat kar rahi ho AY, date is he best way for them to save the marriage warna Dadi ki advice kaise puri hogi..🤣 😆.... That surmises the length and breath of her scope of understanding on ways of saving the marriage and I guess we should just start considering that as a good effort on her part as you know all women cannot be Jhansi ki rani or strong or smart or intelligent or have basic common sense to see things are not as they are supposed to be and need more due diligence.😆

Totally second everything in the bold.... she always keeps referring to life before marriage and how happy they were but how much time did they actually spend together. Obviously, in that one hour or two if Aditya was not busy eating, he must be talking to her or listening to her or doing moon jaap. So she felt like a queen. After marriage, things have changed and as you said, one cannot stay back in the past. One need to learn new things about each other, adjust adapt and thats how the marriage car run, not because you are similar. But, Malini does not want to move forward, does not want to change because she was happy with no disappointment, no unhappiness, no sadness, in her bubble with required amount of pampering from Aditya as and when needed because looks like date bhi yehi plan karti thi. Now, after marriage too, she wanted the same and when she is not getting it, she creates these situations either by putting Aditya down or by these dates/parties where she gets appreciated. Sach sunne ke liye himmat honi chahiye and Malini does not have it. nor wants to.

Her requirement from a life and definition of a happy marriage. Daily dose of pampering and Aditya to dance on her tunes. Jab woh band ho gaya to dooriyan aa gayi hain.😆

Edited : The core difference between her and Imlie is that Imlie has no expectations and never demands , hence she is happy in the little she gets whereas Malini has such high expectations and high demands that she is not happy even when she gets everything. Hence Aditya wants to give things to Imlie because he know she will never ask or complain but with Malini he knows she will always ask or complain.😆

Flitted through a few posts - I’m guessing I'm not the only one who found that entire mirror conversation cringeworthy 😆 Or whatever talk Malini had after with Imlie about her date. Who talks like that? 😆 Especially with a person she thinks to be a maid. I do not care one iota for her pride that she supposedly has for Imlie’s success.

A lot of times the complications in this show makes me uncomfortable but yesterday only that conversation did. I rewatched it and nothing changed. Malini feeling the need to lay out her drummed up fantasies in front of Imlie was obviously for everything that transpired later but so so dodgy. Her grey also has plenty shades but nothing that comes off as well done.

I try not to talk about Malini because it gets me going off on unnecessary rants but that scene was all kinds of wrong.

Isiliye I said first heartfelt. In a way, this scene overrode even the sindoor applying scene for its meaning. Not downgrading the importance of Aditya’s action. Just that Imlie acknowledging it for exactly the reason it was given upped the beauty of it all.

Malini's act of giving a saree to Imlie, to whitewash her, make her mahan, to prove how understanding she is would all have been taken with a pinch of whatever...but what was the intent of giving a saree that she was wearing 10 mins ago..There was nothing special in that saree and neither did Imlie say she would love to have a saree like that. it was close to being disrespectful. So yes I was mad at Malini ofcourse and for the fact that Imlie took that saree and wore it...!

Utharan. Jis cheez pe Imlie’s shadow fell, it got tainted for Malini. Age old principles of elitism. That was the sole intent. No mahaanta or anything

Exactly.You know what I felt weird and creepy when she gave her that saree. I mean who does that? If I wannna gift to someone I will gift something new. Why does she want to attach that sadness and her unfulfilled wish to Imlie’s happiest moment. Is it that she wanted Adi to remember her when he sees Imlie?

And again I felt my thinking is too much negative but after I saw this thread and AY’s I felt relieved.

I think part of the reason that Adi was that way was that no other person in life interested him enough to look beyond himself😆.....you can call it selfish, you can call it self-absorbed...but that is a big part of his "my way or the highway" persona too.

In Imlie, for the first time he sees an EQUAL....ironic as that may sound considering the age and background differences between them and all the bossing around he otherwise does with her😆....but on an instinctual level where it actually counts, he sees in Imlie, someone who matches him in ideals and convictions....heck even outdoes him in convictions😆.....that is where the admiration took root and has now blossomed into this love that makes him want to go to any lengths for her.....Adi has always been a man of passionate convictions.....Imlie has now become his biggest conviction, that is why he is doing something above and beyond himself for the first time in his life for someone else....cuz in her, he sees the actualization of all his ideals as well....she is the personification of all the values that have mattered to him in life.....that is why she is the most special to him now.

I think both parts of the scene was done very nicely without any shor gharba or mandir back drop or bells ringing.

It actually emphasized that whole act where Aditya gave her the full haq, permission for the sindoor and then silent acceptance by Imlie. The simplicity of it was what elevated it more. Both understood the deep sated meaning and the only words that signified the importance were "Jo Hogo Saath hoga"...Again a simple line but had such deep meaning to it that now they are a team and whatever life throws at them, they will face it together.

It was actually a very beautiful, thoughtful gift by Aditya more so because of the importance that Imlie give to sindoor in her life and importance that it now hold for Aditya because of her. 😊
