I like that Neil feels that sense of responsibility of what actions his character displays out of consciousness of not wanting to justify physical violence against women or propagate it.

See that’s what I like about him...

he wants to justify the actions in the right way because he believes it is wrong....

so to be able to perform such a degrading performance of his character he will definitely ask for the future of his character so that he can justify it...
