And to best of my understanding, A R Rahman did not tell the same. He just praised that Danish did justice to the song.

Oh No! I really like his singing. Very sad.

However, as he is not a dramabaz and does not seem to be a puppet to do anything the Production wants him to do or say; may be such outcome was inevitable :(
