Shaurya couldn’t sleep. It has been happening a lot lately. All the reasons he stayed up at night usually directly or indirectly had to do with a certain someone.
He still remembers her first day at the college. It was quite eventful for both of them. She had crashed right into his car just as he was about to enter. He had promised himself had he would not let her affect him at all.
That isn’t working out too well, is it, Shaurya?
His conscience spoke up again. He was aware of his habit to have conversations with himself when he divulged himself too deep in his thoughts. And no matter what he wanted to think, his conscience would snap him back to reality. He hated it but he knew he would be dead in a ditch somewhere if it wasn’t for his conscience.
He couldn’t help but keep thinking about her eyes that twinkled when she was happy and always had a fire inside them which he adored so much as much as he didn’t want to. He couldn’t help but think about her smile, which was seldom there when he was in the vicinity but he craved it to be directed at him. Her hair, which had been a nuisance for him from even before they knew each other but still it irked him whenever she decided to tie them up. Her beautiful earrings about which he had no clue but he knew that they never failed to add to her beauty. Her bindi without which she didn’t look like herself, it felt like it was a part of her. Her generous assortment of bright kurtis, how they never failed to reflect her, made her seem like her true self.
He could think about a million other things which kept him up at night about her. Her touch, her ferocity, her laughs, her brilliant mind. Even her atrocious habit of always getting herself in trouble which kept him up in worry. Her habit of always putting others before herself which sometimes ended up with her and him in sticky situations. Her view for everything around her. Her curiosity. All of it amazed him.
He couldn't stop thinking about HER.
Kanchan’s words had struck him. Kanchan’s words kept him up.
He couldn’t possibly fall for her. That was impossible.
Keep telling yourself that, Shaurya.
