If anyone have seen the original show, is Pandya Store episodes exactly like the original? Or it’s little bit different?
Now as a full disclosure, I only followed the Raavi and Shiva scenes in the original as they were my favorites, so I could only accurately tell you their arc (especially post-marriage).
It's a bit different (though I welcome the change!). Raavi's character is portrayed to be a bit more bubbly (Mulla had her innocence, but I feel like Raavi is bit more innocent and cute) while Shiva is very much an "angry young man" type (Kathir was a bit more broody, and his expressions of love were more subtle compared to Shiva who seems a little bit more expressive in terms of his confusion or anger) (I love angry guy getting together with the innocent girl trope, so I don't even mind). I am fairly confident there was no kangan storyline, so it's been refreshing to see this change as well. Raavi lived with her parents (not her uncle and aunt). Anita's character was already married at the start of the show and was portrayed to be negative (against Dhara at least) from the start; though, in this version, I have a tad bit more sympathy for her.
This version is a bit more "filmy" as Shiva and Raavi did not have this many pre-wedding moments (though I love 'em all, so I will take every scene and watch it with my heart's content). Based on the emphasis of Shiva and Raavi (as well as the terrific response of Shivi), I'm assuming the makers will have a lot more Shivi scenes in the future. Which means we should totally expect the tracks of Raavi introducing Shiva to her friends, Shiva's drunk confession to Raavi, Raavi becoming jealous after hearing about a girl in Shiva's life (and Shiva teasing her all throughout her jealousy) plus more scenes that the writers add! These two always steal the show, regardless of what scene they are doing so I am not too worried.
One thing I am interested to see (that is if the makers are planning for this), is whether Raavi will end up teaching Shiva in the future. The current Tamil track shows Kathir agreeing to studying for his 12th board exams (he ends up forgoing his education to help out Gaumbi at the store). Based on what I've seen thus far, I wonder if Dhara and Gaumbi would've let Shiva drop out. I feel like they wouldn't have (especially with how Dhara emphasized education in Shiva's childhood).
