okay I was reading on this and came across this article..
according to the Indian psychiatry journal these laws are archaic. They were passed in the 1950s when treatment for mental illness weren’t as available as they are today...
In today’s date mental illness is treatable.. yes bhavani is Devi’s guardian but you cannot ignore that she is the one who has caused this. Now if they are to go to court and counter this the court can allot an appointed psychiatrist which will work under their surveillance to see whether devyanis condition improves or not...
just because she has a mental illness doesn’t not mean she doesn’t have the right to marry. There are many loopholes.. if through dna testing pulkit proves devyani to be the mother and that the child was snatched from the mother it makes a sting basis for devyani to be with pulkit...
the whole thing has many many loopholes.. now some might counter that they can bribe the people etc, but we shouldn’t forget that pulkit himself is a doctor (no matter how spineless he might be) he knows about taking care of such patients and has been trained...
also devyani remembers her marriage and gets panic attacks when something happens to pulkit or something is against pulkit..
there are many ways of proving what bhavani and gang have done..
but basing the argument on the basis that she is mentally unstable is not fair because she hasn’t been given proper medical help... we don’t know what medication and what kind of treatment and whether there is a treatment devyani is being provided.
The cause is clear. It was the shock of losing the child and husband which probably drove her to lose her mental stability but her mother has not helped her recover why because she knows if she recovers she will let the truth out and will go back to pulkit which bhavani doesn’t want...
