I can see that point too. But I guess I expected different from Pallu. She does seem to indulge in the love she gets from her Aai Baba and likely it may be a factor of her not having parents of her own. So maybe she is trying to live out her childhood missed opportunities but can only do that with her Aai baba and not with Kaku at home and then the one person who throws a stone at her perfectly balanced existence gets to see the competitive and jhagdalu side of her because that's what kids do. They find someone their own age and size and get competitive in trying to make friends or to prove their own worth. That validation from their peers becomes important outside of the home. I can see Pallu getting irritated because she doesn't get validation from the Don and then belittles her need for validation by trying to prove him unworthy of judging her. The banter can be a side effect of that.

But boy does she want his validation like hell. It bothers her so much. Regardless, I think the time when an armed gun man is trying to shoot you in the dark is not time for such commentary. Any person with common sense would shut the hell up and try to save their own life let alone make so much noise and put self and others in harms way. I expect Pallu to be at least have that level of intelligence. She has proven that in the past...so to me it seems a digression on her character sketch for mere balancing act.

BTW nice to run into you again after many years. I have read your FF in the past and that one you abandoned half way after beautiful writing that had me hooked. Hope to see some of that in this forum. 😊
