Can't actors read the room? It looks so bad that you have no idea what's going on in your profession. It's obvious she doesn't watch movies - she doesn't work with interesting makers or actors, unlike Taapsee and Bhumi.

I know right. If she said something like I don watch my own movies, I could still understand that.

Its a really stupid thing to say and pretty sure its a lie as well

It's unfair to put someone down for their failures like this. Parineeti is already wildly successful considering she is an outsider and made a mark for herself in the industry. Thousands, lakhs if not millions of people go to Mumbai in the hopes of being recognized as an actor. Not only Parineeti was recognized, she earned laurels from critics and became popular too. She is extremely successful and one would be silly to deny it.

It's just that she couldn't sustain it, for whatever reasons. She could not achieve her full potential. That's still ok. It is just that she has been having an unlucky streak - but then so are so many actors. Shahid Kapoor was a complete flop for almost a whole decade until he bounced back. Many examples like this. No reason to think this bad streak won't end for Parineeti. Now with many more options, she can and will easily find work, if she wants to.

Even if she doesn't want to, she is young, rich, educated (MBA from top university and all) and can do wonders in whatever field she chooses.

I really like Parineeti but it's obvious that she has lost momentum.

We can say a million things like she can always make a comeback, she's a good actor and that's all that matters, she can bounce back etc but look at her streak. How can you bounce back from such bad choices?

She had enough time to analyze and think about what kind of films she should do going forward and maybe her thought process was to get back with powerful roles and her roles in Saina, The Girl on the Train and Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar looked strong on paper but the films were not that great.

Also, it was very surprising to see false notes in Parineeti's performance so the biggest advantage that she had is also gone.

Parineeti cares too much about what people say , esp about her looks, and not enough about her acting. Unless you develop the ability to detach from superficiality, it's hard to focus on the craft. She also needs to step out of the Yrf/KJo crowd and go indie like Sanya or Taapsee. But if she doesn't watch movies, how is she even going to improve 😕

i would LOVE to be an outsider who has an A list superstar sister ruling the industry since 8 years..with all due respect..please don't even put her in the league of the real outsiders who actually had to struggle their way to success..she may not be as priviledged as an alia or ranbir but she was no taapsee or vidya either who really had to struggle to make a mark and were total outsiders..

this putting down someone for their failure..happens for everyone..you can see what was happening to ranbir before sanju..it is not cool but it shouldn't be selective either..i hope you take equal stand when others are bashed for failures either..and this is not putting her down but simply stating how she has managed to escape most of the criticism of constantly getting movies despite an abysmal track record..

Not sister. Cousin.

And Priyanka has other cousins in the industry too, Meera and Mannara Chopra. If PC had the power to make stars out of her family, they would be stars too.

Yes, Parineeti does have an advantage having a star as her cousin, but beyond that, PC never provided any real help to her in helping her succeed (not that we know of, anyway).

It is due to her acting skills she got noticed and got the film deal with YRF, not because she was related to PC.

  • While working on promotions for Band Baaja Baaraat, Chopra realised that she wanted to become an actress and decided to resign from her executive position with Yash Raj Films to attend acting school. Film director Maneesh Sharma suggested signing Chopra to Aditya Chopra, chairman of Yash Raj Films. Appalled by the idea of recruiting someone from his marketing team as an actress, the vice-president refused. When Parineeti Chopra told Sharma she was leaving her job to attend acting school he advised her to meet the company's casting director, who asked her to do a "dummy audition for fun". Chopra remembered "fooling around with a camera" and delivering lines by the character Geet from the film Jab We Met, never expecting producer Aditya Chopra to see the tape. However, when the producer saw the tape he was impressed with her acting. With Sharma describing her "phenomenal" in the screen test, Chopra was signed to a three-film deal

So let's not discredit Parineeti for the success she has earned with her own hardwork and talent.

Everyone is bashed for failures but in case of Parineeti I find it excessive and harsh, so I pointed it out.
