In his introduction scene - he tells someone in his office - to correct their grammar and not to forget they work for a hindi newspaper.

Also consistently they have shown him have knowledge of - the hindi not so often used equivalent for an english word. Its these subtleties that take this show to another level.

He's used some hindi terms for correspondence studies, scholarship, awkward, etc to translate for Imli, Meethi :)

Also his appreciation for the poem Imli wrote for his wedding card with Malini, the garam tawa poem, what he tells Imli about kaala akshar bainz barabar... I've enjoyed all those references.

Shows Adi to be one - who does not think - usage of the hindi language vs lets see English makes anyone less... and thereby helps us believe that his connection with Imli is not hampered by their dialect or English pronunciation differences.

I remember Imli telling Malini's cousin also during Malini wedding that - speaking in English does not make anyone great...another Hindi vs English language reference in this show.

Is it? I also don't know what Mun means. I always thought it was Moon.

I think Mun is bengali for Moon? Maybe from the original show that this one was inspired from.

Waise Aditya almost looks sickly since the PD bus stop scene. Make up and acting nicely done to show how he has lost the essence of what makes him lively. Especially the Malini hug waala scene, man he looked like someone electrocuted him, and not in a good way 😲

Enjoying the progression in this track, Aditya's brain is working at the speed of molasses but seems to be working, drawing comparisons between his "love" for Malini and that for Imlie. Tripathis to thode overboard ho gaye nahi, nayi bahu ke pyaar mein....murga bano...kuch bhi.

It sounds like “Mun” when he says it, yes 😆....but Mun doesn’t have any meaning as a word. The one time he used “Mun” in PD, Imlie also spun it as “Moon” to make it sound like he’s calling her his moon 😆.

Still feel like Lodestar’s theory of why he started calling her “Moon” is probable coz Malini would love to consider herself his chaand/Moon 😆

Looks like Mun in Bengali means chandamama anyway 😆

There is a subtle difference to the way he pronounces. Kabhi “oo” wala Moon nahin kaha shaayad

Lol they expect Hindi viewers to get Bengali word references now? 😆 Thoda zyada ho gaya yeh, no?

None of the characters in the story are from a Bengali background in this Hindi version but they still want to keep Bengali references coz it’s a remake of a Bengali show? 😆

Or are they going to show Malini say something about how she loves the Bengali language so Adi gave her this nickname for that reason? 😆

Google seems to think Mun in Bengali is Moon 😆 So there we go, ghoom phir ke chandamama only

Oh yes, no doubt on the theory. Woh hai toh Aditya the sun 😆

Having rewatched the initial Aditya Malini conversation - Malini is registering stuff. She knew the moment he extracted himself from the hug; it is a blink and miss but she notices it. I think how they’ve shown Aditya and Imlie having retained things about each other, whenever Malini has her epiphany, she will also remember these things. It was not as big as the bridge wala leap but it was there
