Aditya Tripathi's class conflict

I started following Imlie since its launch. Rather BB14 forced me to reinstall Hotstar app on my mobile.

Adi's profession got me hooked actually. I was wondering how he will be depicted or what will be his character sketch.

Well, Adi baba is a dignified version of Gul Khans Male Lead. A decade ago they were toxic to the core.

Adi is not different, the character is not the typical business tycoon, rather his personality is more towards I, me, myself and my work..

He is actually a misfit in a joint family. Dating Malini for seven years and unofficially being a part of her life changed his attitude. He developed or harboured opinions about the rich that made him take up assignments in PB.

He is more of the urban middle class who is caught in a class conflict. Malini's mom has drilled so much of negativity in him that he sees himself as a rebel.

Aditya is flawed too, a journalist's USP is the ability to communicate but this man allowed Imlie to take the lead.

Imlie has literally saved Adi from the jaws of death and he is grateful. Aditya is also a Indian version of Robinson Crusoe, the man literally hates the rich.

I believe the economic differences which are always highlighted by Anu, pushed Adi towards Imlie and Pagdandiya.

I agree. Aditya's class conflict is shown very well. Initially he was shown as a typical uncaring guy, who only cared about his work. And yes, Anu's attitude is what pushed Adi to "rebel" against the rich.

But he took to Pagdandiya because he was impressed by Satyakaam's "rebellion". There he heard SK's story & started to sympathize with the villagers & their struggles. But then forced marriage happened & he got mad with everything related to Pagdandiya.

But since his feelings for Imlie changed, his mindset towards village people also changed.

Interesting observation. Adi is a socialist - so it seems right that from the beginning of the serial - he has shown an understanding for PG and SK.

Anu having such an impact - so as to push him towards PG more - plays to the destiny and karma portion of the story...and suggests a deeper rooted issue with Mun...next phase of story will bring more clarity with this
