i was going through your comment and one sentence suddenly caught my attention. Virat thought that there was nothing much to share. I would have agreed if he hadn't told Patralekha before marriage that I love you more than my life. They were not in a commitment but the moment they met again they told each other what they had in their hearts. He might not have committed in front of her but both his aayi and Samrat knew there was a girl Virat was serious about. Even though it was a two day love story CVs have tried to establish the feelings were strong. So strong that Virat could tell his aayi about it. And it wasn't timepass. If it wasn't timepass it was serious. So if he treats it as true love (whether or not it was is for another debate) there was definitely alot to share which he didn't.
@bold I agree but Virat did what he felt was right at that moment. I don't deny that he kind of spoilt Samrat's life in a way but that wasn'this intention.
He thought he was sacrificing for his brother but never thought if the girl will ever be able to move on or not and how Samrat would feel when he comes to know that Pakhi and he loved each other.
Virat is a very emotional person and he thought and could see how happy his brother looked. He has heard it many times from Samrat that he likes Patralekha a lot. So, to him it was more like snatching away that smile from his brother's face, that happiness that he was hoping for. He didn't want to shatter his brother's dreams.
Virat failed to see/understand that it would have been good if he had told his brother the truth rather than keeping him in dark.
But there are a couple of things:
Virat and Pakhi hardly shared any kind of relationship
He was about to propose her but never did
He only met her on the day of haldi and confessed his feelings only when he was confronted by Pakhi
So technically speaking Virat was more like another groom who liked Pakhi and whom Pakhi liked. Love actually never blossomed between them. There was no relationship between them. So, he thought that they were not at any stage in their relationship that it was important to let his brother know. If, if they had started to speak to each other, he had confessed his feelings to her before he left and then they lost contact and then again found her like this, I think Virat might have informed Samrat. Because this scenario means that they are committed.
As per the scenario that was shown in the show, they were not committed to each other. There were expectations, hope to start something but it never began. So I think he thought that there was nothing much to share and hid it from Samrat.
He never realised how much him and Pakhi had actually got emotionally attached to each other. Though they never spoke to each other about their feelings, they had it in their heart, they dreamt about each other. But can these be considered being in relationship?
As per him, they were not in a relationship and I think that is why he felt it was okay to do it.
