It's confirmed in Wanda vision she was born in 1988.

They weren't kids as such. Steve called them kids.

And they had zero experience on the field. Pietro used his powers to rob, but wands didn't really use them before AoU and when she was practicing.

The only time she used out if the hydra lab was when she diffused the stark shell that hit their house to protect Pietro after her parents died.
