Look I think we have little bit different perspective here,I don't know what he meant by defense mechanism exactly so will not comment on it but I felt it for the hype that was created around his characteristics thats of being smart,calculative which you also mentioned so yup that was a mirage showing him smart,cold,composed,intelligent,obsessive tinge,I guess that all was just a mirage becoz it always remained to dialogues never result in actions so I took that line of Rrahul for whole of his character sketch which appear to me prima facia but never in long run.

In long run for me he was never smart,he was egoistic,short tempered,oblivious person,with even zero commeon sense forget about brain,I don't even feel his love to be enough strong to even called as passionate forget obsessive that is a far fetched term for vansh's love FOR ME and regarding him making popat of kabir yeah he always manage to do that but thats not smartness atleast for me never,it was always coincidences,look recently also kabir planned even plan B and got successful almost in his plans but again vansh's LUCK played role and AP saved him,he was not equipped,it was not his smartness,I can never call him smart.

It was my inference of the serial and particularly about Character of VRS.

I think u had certain expectations that were not fulfilled. But my expectations to an extend was fulfilled. Till Revenge track i find him interesting. I know u will not agree but for me the whole Vihan track was a detox or a plan escaptulated by Vansh. Writers mess with it..anyway i think hum sab kafi discuss kar chuke hai ispe! Ab todha bore ho jati hoon yar! Any way sorry if i hurt u.
