Thank you for bringing that up. I, too, wondered about that scene. And it has been niggling me.
My interpretation is that the old man was hitting his son, the young boy whom Pallavi collides with. When P asks boy who hit him, the boy indicates the area where both old man and Raghav are standing. Did Pallavi make an assumption? When Pallavi confronts Raghav, the boy looks sheepish and looks down as though he knows Pallavi is making a mistake. Did Raghav see the old man beating the boy and step in? The scene doesn't make sense otherwise. I feel the writers are creating a pattern that when Pallavi sees Raghav in any situation she always assumes the worse. Like the temple VIP puja. Like the kidnapping. Raghav beating an old man is incongruous to his helping old people.
Feb 19th -----My thoughts-----
I think RR was saving that kid from his own father. The old man probably was beating the child and RR came to the rescue but Pallu is the classic balaji FL who must play judge and executioner without knowing the full story.
Yes. I agree. Pallavi read the situation wrong. And then Raghav's mother also read it wrong. But I think the writers should have clarified it later. When the boy and his mother came back to Deshmukh House to return the tin with the gold threads would have been a fine opportunity.

Actually.. later raghav told his mom that that old man was harassing kirti.. then kirti said I can take care of my self..
They didn’t say how the kid got hurt 🤦🏼♀️

Raghav really looks mesmerized with pallavi yaar.....
I really like it when ML falls in love first.....it is very obvious that it will be Raghav only, who will be obsessively in love with her.......while our pallu will be in denial as she fears marriage.......... Let's see if Raghav forces marriage on pallavi.....it will be interesting too.......by the way,how will Raghav know that pallavi is a widow???????
Yes, me too!---I like the hero to fall in love first and then deny it for ages---while on the surface trying to damage heroine but ends up helping her.

I wonder if anyone noticed that something similar happened in the saree shop too. Raghav pointed out at a saree telling he liked it and made Pallavi wear it. And that he uses the same to clean his shoe and tore the saree off.
Hey Sister---Good observation on the symbolism.
First comes the promise of love then the love is damaged by the same hand. I love looking out for such things.
