Of course it isn't he who achieved those things, but the mockery was directed toward his family background. That's how the discussion came up. Esp that comment re: Nobel was laughable. And then the spin that it didn't matter because it was literature.

Saif Ali Khan comes across as elitist , semi-literate, and arrogant. KKK is clearly colorist and elitist and foolish.

It still doesn't make Shahid any better a deal. Now the spin that Shahid isn't controlling because PC is strong and KK is not. Apparently, both things prove Shahid's mellow nature.

But the whole thing started because people were bragging about him being a nawab and royalty and how Kareena did so much better than Shahid. Kareena did better with Saif because she’s happier with him but not because he’s a gareeb fake nawab.

I wasn't saying these were Saif's achievements. I was responding to the specific claim that his family is not impressive- that is blatantly untrue. And we should be fully aware of why his marriage to Kareena triggers people to such a crazy degree. Hint : It's not his moronic views on eugenics

I am nobody to defend Shahid but everyone is allowed to live the lifestyle that they want as long as nobody is being forced into it. The entire thread started off an an attack on Mira and Shahid because she doesn’t work. It’s very common for people in high stress professions to want partners who can stay home. It makes it much easier on the marriage to only have to worry about one person’s schedules and time demands. It also provides stability for the children because one person is always there while the other one is flying around and away from home and tending to their career. It doesn’t necessarily mean the person is a controlling misogynist. Just someone who is practical and knows it’s easier to make things work this way for the family.

Similarly, Kareena and PC chose what worked for them. Kareena loves working and Saif is kind of a flop and doesn’t mind her getting all the limelight. They also don’t mind their kids being raised by nannies. They’re on the same page and happy with their life so good for them. Same goes for PC. She needed someone who would give her some standing and fame in the US. Her focus is her career and they are satisfied living separately most of the time. So good for them too. People choose what works best for themselves. Nothing wrong in it at all.

Well nice to see things haven't changed. Years ago we shamed women for working, now we shame them for not working, whereas men deserve praise either way!

Mind you we now expect women to do 2 jobs and not 1 - even with working, women are expected to still take care of the primary home tasks - cooking, cleaning, childcare.
