Cant have Uday so easily lol, there has to be some drama to make things interesting :)

CHAPTER 20 B: A Royal Wedding

Meanwhile, boys surround Uday. “kya baat hai boss! Cha gaye!” Sid says to Uday.

“Now it makes sense why you and Rohan bhai spend so much time together” adds Kush

“Honestly, we are relieved now that we know the reason” winks Sid, causing Rohan to hit him.

Kush spots his target exiting the hall. He excuses and follows. When the time was right he says

“where are you going”

“you scared me!”

“Aww I am sorry baby” pulling her closer

“Choddo humhe”

“Nai” While wrapping her hands behind his neck “acha… kal phone kyu nai kiya?”

“sorry hum busy the, woh Uday bhai ko kuch urgent kaam tha”

“tum aur tumhare Uday Bhai” he starts to kiss her neck, stopping him she adds “aisa toh kya kam tha?”

“hmmmmm….. yeh sab choddo ab” he continues his kissing

“koi dekh lega, leave me kush”

“dekhne do”

“kush” before he can, a third person from the other side of the wall says “rajkumari Meenaxi” …. She answers “Jee”... “Maharaj aapko bula rahe hai” … “jee sukhriya”

“I have to go” she pecks his cheek and leaves.

The next couple days pass by fast with haldi and wedding. It was the last day of celebrations, reception. Uday planned his date with Manyata during lunch. M sneaks out of the house with help from Isha. Uday picks her up and they head to a small mountain range nearby. There Uday had booked half of the café on hilltop. M was enjoying her “best coffee ever” along with the live music at the café. Excitedly she says “I really liked your guitar I saw it at your place. It was nice” Uday smiles at her. “you should sometime…” she stops recalling Unnati’s words “umm nice song, right?” Uday agrees. She enjoyed the performance while Uday admired her. They explore the area for couple hours before heading back.

The Reception goes well and everyone had a blast. The next day, A and U head to their honeymoon. With things wrapped up, adults head back to Mumbai. Giriraj goes to London for work. Kids stay back to party and explore as Rehan, Chris and Jen wanted to see the royal life. Uday and Manyata, they were happy they could sneak in some time together. But it was harder than they thought as Jay hovered around Manyata most of the time. Today the group decided to visit couple of forts in Jaigarh. Upon insistence from Kush and Uday, Luv became a tour guide, telling historic stories. After the first fort, Jay was exhausted. She couldn’t take the heat and goes back to Summer Palace, where they were all staying. The tour of second fort starts. Uday waits for his time and then pulls Manyata by her hand behind the pillar. He shushes her and peeks to make sure group has moved forward. Everyone was engrossed in Luv’s stories to notice.

She smiles at him and jokes “I am missing the story”

“how about we make our own story at this fort” and kisses her cheeks

“toh ab kya” asks M

He takes her hand in his “ab udar” pointing in opposite direction from others. The hour goes by with their chats. As they were turning around the corner, Manyata sees Jen and hears the group. She quickly removes his hand, causing U to smile. Uday whispers in her ears “kitni fattu ho” walks towards everyone. Manyata wanted to get him back for the comment but smartly. She follows him & says “Oh my god what is that” pointing in a direction. When everyone looks that way, she quickly tries to peck Uday’s cheek. But feeling her close, he turns his face causing her to kiss his lips. Realizing her trick, Uday quickly recaptures her lips, pulling her close. He lets go after few seconds when he hears others giggling. Manyata gasps. “we know you are dating but get a room” jokes Sid. Embarrassed M, leaves. Uday gives Sid a ‘you just wait’ look and chases after M.

After roaming around for few hours, they stop by at Jaigarh Palace. Uday gives newcomers tour of the palace. “best for last… this is my room” says Uday. “Wow bro living the life” says Rehan and Chris. Everyone heads out back to the living room. Uday pulls Manyata back and closes the door quietly. He hugs her from the back. “what are you doing” asks M.

“nothing… hanging out with my girlfriend”

“Uday sab neeche….” But she was shushed. Slowly he kisses her neck up to her ears. He turns her around. Cupping her face, kisses her forehead and cheeks. Slowly moves to her lips. He kisses her until they were out of breath. He moves down neck to shoulder, slightly pulling her top from shoulders. “Uday baas” but he was lost in the moment. She pushes him hard “I said stop” harshly then walks out of the room. In the living room, M was feeling guilty about what happened, especially since Uday has not yet joined them. Her mind and her heart was fighting a battle. Uday finally joins them “guys you all go ahead to Summer Palace, I need to get some things done. I will join later” M was now feeling worse. She tries to talk but with everyone around it was hard. She leaves along with others. Not surprisingly she could not sleep. ‘you could have reacted better’ she thinks to herself. Every now and then she peeked out the window to see if his car was here. Finally, sometime in the night she fell asleep.

In the morning, first thing she does is check her phone but no msg or call.

“wow you are still sleeping”

“I feel asleep late” says yawning M “is Uday here?”

“nooo (M was surprised) you don’t know? he left for London early morning” says Isha

“what!” …Isha - “ya he had some work” M takes her phone to call but Isha adds “he is probably still in flight” M messages him ‘call me’

With uday gone, group decides to head to Mumbai. The day passes by slowly for M as she keeps checking her phone. Finally, she gets a call from him. “Hi” … “Hi, Bolo Manyata, you messaged?” says U

‘Did he call me by my name and not princess, he must be still angry’ thinks Manyata

“you didn’t tell me you were going”

“haan woh… suno Manyata I have to go. I’ll call you tonight, Okay” says Uday. M was disappointed.

In London:

As Uday hangs up, Purushottam, King of Rajpur (Meenakshi’s dad) joins him and Giriraj.

“uday beta, I am glad you could join us for this meeting tomorrow. There is some Harvard connection I thought it might be best to have you involved”

“Ji uncle, happy to help you and dad seal the deal”

“let’s catch you up, we are meeting clients for drinks at 6” says Purushottam. Couple of hours fly and their meeting goes well. After the meeting, U heads to party of one of his college classmate, who insisted he join. Catching up with friends, he didn't get chance to call M.

Next day morning, Meenaxshi, Jay’s new friend, had joined for breakfast. Boys were busy with their conversation. Jay, knowingly, asks about Uday to Isha and M, who was disappointed as he hadn’t heard from him since he left. “he is good busy with work, should be back soon”.

“and his parties, right” adds Meenaxshi. M and Isha were surprised. “I mean it was annual party of our batchmate last night, Uday never missed those, his girl fan clubs jo aate hain” says casually. Meenaxshi smiles at each other knowing the arrow had hit the spot. Isha tries to lighten the mood “well if you work hard you should party harder, right!” they give fake smiles.

By 9pm, Uday was back in India and goes to Devgarh mahal to surprise M.

In her room, M was standing in front of her closet, picking out clothes for tomorrow. Uday enters her room, tippy toe-ing towards her. He taps her shoulder and she turns to see no one.

“ahhh” screams M as Uday pops up from behind closet door

‘shh princess hum hai”. Her anger melts seeing him. She felt bad about what happened before he left, and sadness takes over her face. He hugs her “kya huya princess, aap khush nai humare aane se?”

“nai… woh.. woh I am sorry about...” knowing where she was going Uday interprets her

“No, i should be. I didn’t mean to you know (to release tension he adds) ab kya kare you are so beautiful I can’t help it” winks

‘acha toh fir aise chale kyu gaye the?”

“it’s not like that. after you left dad called with some urgent work and then asked me to come.”

“you could have told me!”

“I got really busy with work”

Meenaxshi’s words crosses her mind but she stops herself on pondering on them further. “but.. (he turns her around and hugs her from the back) I still missed you a lot”, They chat for bit before Uday leaves.

In morning at Jaigarh Penthouse, Uday was getting ready in his room, when boys barge in “Koi Mehta Jewelers se aaya hai” says Sid as he jumps in the bed

“oh yes I’ll be there”

“why do you need a jeweler”

taking a deep breath, he says ‘I guess I should tell you guys now. I am getting an engagement ring made” boys were stunned. Kush who was drinking something starts coughing.

“for what” asks sid causing Uday to say “bas time pass k liye”

luv - “are you serious”. Uday nods “I am so happy for you banna! She is perfect for you”

smiling at his words, U says – “she is, 2 days away from her and I was going crazy… haan nai toh” everyone chuckles. Then, Sid sighs loudly, Uday -“what?”

“now you will be too busy for me” says moping Sid

“yes finally I can get rid of you” jokes U, causing Sid to throw pillow at him. “Well you can be busy too if you grow up and ask Isha out. We can see how much you like her... woh kya bola tha (now imitating Sid) 'did it hurt when you fell'” Boys laugh. Sid surprised, charges at Uday but stud he is, Uday dodges him and heads downstairs. U finalizes a design and jeweler gets to work. He planed to propose day after Arjun-Unnati’s party, where Devgarh will introduce the newly married couple to the media and others who could not attend wedding.

Party preps were in full force and M was in charge for party arrangements. Her assistance, Uday, was with her the whole time. Isha who had found out about Uday’s plans was getting emotional when she saw them, causing boys to cover up with M. On the other hand, seeing U & M close, J was jealous. She makes a phone call and before the person can say hello, J angrily says “When are you going to tell jiji”

“be patience, these things can’t be done in haste you need to have fullproof plan and back up plans, you don’t know Uday” says Meenaxshi

“he is deceiving my sister, I can’t take it anymore”

“couple more days. You don’t worry, I won’t let your sister get hurt”

He wanted to believe none of it was true but he had known him since his first girlfriend. Can someone change so much in such short time? Luv thinks. Can someone like Uday change? He wasn’t sure about any of that but one thing he was sure of was that Uday cared for her as much as his choti…. Luv - “He lov…” she raises her hand to stop him, like a true Royal. Luv was stunned he had never seen this side of her. “don’t say those words. I don’t want to hear them” … “I went against all my beliefs. You know all stuff I heard about him through others, in media but I still gave him the benefit of the doubt, I put my heart out there. for what? So I can be his… his timepass (Luv shakes his head at her comment) .... (M takes in deep breath to calm herself) people like him never change. Yet, I choose to trust him and I have paid the price. Ab baas, please just let me be …”

Sid and Luv leave as they knew she wasn’t going to hear anything. Isha, who stays back, believed Uday could never do such thing to her, but doesn’t say anything. M needed some time to calm down before she can think rationally. “baas Manyata” wiping her tears. M breaks down again and hugs Isha tightly. Jay, who was watching from outside the room,…
