Yeah maybe the voting thing was just a distraction to keep fans busy/engaged. Bc fandoms were going to spam their posts anyway with who they wanted to win, so they figured let's make a game out of it.

I think DPIFF is probably more based on jury, but definitely the PR angle plays into it. I think that's the case with most/all awards which tbh makes it really frustrating bc when someone deserving loses it's usually not bc the other person was a stronger performer, but it's due to something that shouldn't have a bearing on celebrating their work in the first place 🤔

NO ONE'S SAYING SC DIDN'T DESERVE IT. Honestly she was powerhouse of performance in N5. It was the character that was lacking. She proved her acting and she won.

It's just that there are people out there who also deserve recognition for their hardwork.

And don't worry, I'll be the 1st one to say it if someone says something that to me feels degrading or in that tone.

I was the 1st person to admit that maybe she wouldn't have won had the other nominees been as strong as SM is.

I guess for me if it had been a choice between the two and only one of them could win, I'd have gone with SM over SC. Simply bc Veer was the kind of character you never see on ITV, and SM took something that could have been a cliché and turned it into this amazingly nuanced character. Mooching around the forums the last few days and seeing what is currently passing for MLs on other shows, and how toxic many of them are, has really made me appreciate and miss Veer even more. So to see him not win (twice) for that performance makes it clear to me that these awards aren't really about performance or who actually deserves it. So it casts a bit of a shadow (for me at least) on the process as a whole.

That said, glad for Chandu, and it is yet another slap on the faces of certain people and channels, and that too again on a day when the replacement is being watched by zero people 🤣

So yeah, I'm sad. Somewhere i knew that sc had huge chances of winning. But i wanted sm to win too. I wanted him to know that veeranshu and the way he potrayed that character is legendary.

As i said na nina, all of it comes down to fandom. Bhagyas both of them have a hefty fandom. You gotta enter the nomination on fandom and PR basis and then jury judges amongst them.

LOL...I mean of course I wanted them both to win. Just trying to say that *if* that was the only choice, Veer would slightly edge it out over Bani for me, that's it. But ultimately, this feels like half a victory 😒 as you say, I wanted SM to win more bc I want him to know how much we love Veeranshu and his performance. I guess he has seen that over the last few months, and at least he did win the Icon Award last year.
