This show is insulting Kinnars and women - Shame on writers

Hi friends,

I have been watching this show for past few years on and off, I liked the subject as it’s on transgender and I thought later it will show something encouraging for transgender that they can go to school, college and become doctors or engineers like other human beings but it turned into a nasty saas bahu drama.

Then I liked Virat and Heer chemistry, well played by actors but again a horrible saas bahu drama, there is nothing new, seems like replay of Harman saumya story, very predictable. I watched a movie Laxmi which was a remake of Kanchana and in that movie transgenders are portrayed in encouraging way, their struggle, rights to live in society and showing that they are no less than man or woman, when given a chance they can be successful like them.

Shakti writers are showing humiliation and disrespect for kinnars, not even that insults for bahus, who tolerates walking on glass, insulting girls family. Sorry but instead of showing Heer to fight for her rights and love these writers are showing torture and criminal in-laws drama. This show does not represents Shakti but is Bezzati - astitva ke ahsaas ki.

I absolutely co-sign on your post. They have literally degraded the Kinnar community. Portrayed them as good for nothing humans...only good for clapping n begging, stealing, kidnapping, drug trade, pimping n all horrible stuff. And if they’re stunning, put on tons of make up n gaudy clothes because they can only be ugly. I said it before and I will repeat, the Kinnar community should sue Shakti makers for misrepresenting them. Disgraceful writers.

Correct, this show represents how to torture kinnars or how they are insulted. Such a poor written script, in one of episode Heer stood up for herself talking in English when a guy insulted her being a kinnar, why cannot she stood up in front of physco parmeet when she tortures her. Again, bahus and kinnars are portrayed so badly as if they are not humans.
