What's the most stupid thing Bollywood conditioned you to believe in?

For me, the first answer is simple: incessant stalking is love. So many Bollywood films peddle this myth that it's disturbing. Stalking, in reality, is creepy af and violates the very notion of consent that mutual love is based on.

Second, that the goody-two-shoes, sanskaari girl gets the guy. This notion is regressive and not at all true of the complex way in which love works.

1) That heroes are real heros. When small i thought amitabh, salman or srk or other actors are good humans like their movie characters only when i became like big i realized they are not. Thanks to internet todays kids are not so innocent hopefully

2) Stalking is another 90s glorified stalking like anything.Hero was biggest stalker and sexual harraser

3) Heroine would wear modern dress when girl friend and when married only saree

4) If heroine does not marry lover and another an ex boy friend has to compulsory die in last scene just to show heroine is pure

5) If heroine has two husband first husband dies in last scene rather sacrifice his life so he do not come between her 2nd hubby and her

Too many stupid things

Actually I've seen guys marry girls who are essentially goody two shoes. For some reason, outspoken women are not considered marriage material and they have a reputation of being troublemakers. 🤔

OT, Bollywood has conditioned me to believe that in the end everything will be alright 😆

Whatever be the mess that you make of your life and whatever maybe your blunders/mistakes, in the end things will fall in place and everyone will forgive and forget and be happy.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way in real life. We're accountable for everything we do and our kartoot 😛 cannot be brushed under the carpet. It's not easy to forgive and forget and "clean slate" is a false notion.

That dramatic love stories (parents against the union, misunderstandings, etc) are romantic. After going through such, is much prefer ones that were boring and parents were cool etc. Bollywood conditions you to want all the wrong things

That good always wins. I've acrually seen someone spouting that on Mahabharat forum. Well... if Yudhishtira was gray, why did he win? I'm like, seriously? You really believe good always wins? Heck, even on their own side, the good guys didn't win (see: Panchali, Abhimanyu, Uttara)

1. That spoiled girls and guys are mean and stupid but are good hearted and in some cases after the slap from hero ya heroine, they become sanskari. 🤪

2. Stupid heroine is the most masoom aur dil ki saaf.

3. Opposite attract. Utter nonsense this is.

4. Falling for Bad boy is romantic.

5. Dysfunctional families are fun (They are so not). After all the fights and jagdas and not talking to each other for years, they still love each other. 🤷‍♀️

6. Hero’s brother or papa is alone and yet he will go to fight with the villain. He is tied and still will give dhamkis n spite the villain. Only to get killed so hero can take revenge. 🤣

That meeting the love of your life is the only thing that really matters in life. Romanticising falling in love to the point that more people are in love with the idea of love than actually being in love with their partners. I was so delusional for most of my life that that's all that I need and want. After spending a lot of time alone and with myself, empowering myself to live independently, I don't think love and marriage are the answers to all problems. You need to really work on yourself a lot and also be okay with the idea of living a good happy life by yourself :)

*Toxic masculinity and toxic relationships!

The hot and cold, push and pull, fighting horribly to be pulled together stronger. This is not love, and it is definitely not a healthy relationship. Especially slapping/hitting each other, stalking, checking their phones etc.

that the main guy was always killing the bad guy.. i mean it didnt even matter if it was a comedy, romance or drama lol..

do you know how big of effect it has on a normal person just to go and murder someone, even if they are in right... the PTSD would go on for years.. the funny thing is that the bad guy was never arrest and taken to prison but he had to die by the hands of the hero, everyone was ok with it the Courts, police and the public
