No offence to anyone who watches/likes that show, but how...just how do you find that love story okay in any way?

This is my point. If the TRP race was about one thing - i.e. story - then many of these shows wouldn't be getting the numbers they do. But clearly there are other factors at play, so it never feels like an even playing field.

The FL also seems to have forgiven him before the 'death'. I've seen the fans of that show rave about the leads' chemistry and they seem to be all for it. I know we can all be swayed by looks and chemistry ... but this is just on the dark side, too much. I try not to moral police but the concept is coming across so wrong. Dude has murdered people! I don't get how you can be okay with it too.

@Bold. Completely agree. In fact it seems like a good story and the TRPs are actually inversely proportional. How many stories have died at the hands of these numbers?

Also which scene did the salt show copy from IB?

Re: the cage show - exactly! I try not to moral police either (at least out loud 😆) and this is the first time I'm even talking about it, but no matter how good the chemistry, I could not be on board with that kind of storyline.

Re: IB/salt - it's the "Boom!" car explosion one from Shivika's first wedding - where Shivaay corners her in some field and pretends to kill Sahil just so she'll marry him (just writing that out makes me mad about that SL again 😡 it's a good job SSO paid for his mistakes. IDK the context of the salt remake of that scene, but the visuals are the same)

Talk about toxic love stories...🤔

This is why when I see people talking about SharBhi getting a Saurabh Tiwari show I'm like NO THANK YOU PLEASE. I don't want to see a repeat of this kind of show for them (not to mention, he also produced Madhubala 🤣)

Progressive woman empowerment all the way 👍🏼 I have no clue why people think toxic male leads are what we want to see 🤔 literally no clue. Just because the ML does go topless and for some might be pleasing to the eye. His character in the show is toxic stop encouraging this kind of behaviour oh god defo don’t want a madhubala situation here 🤢

It reminds me of some of those terrible movies from the 90s when the FL (I remember one of Rani's movies) was married off to her rapist as a punishment for him (WTAF 😡) and in the end he fell in love with her 🤢 naaah guys, this stuff was dated back in the 90s, it's not any more progressive now.

If the actions of some of these toxic MLs were being depicted by, IDK, Prem Chopra or something, they would definitely be classed as those of a villain. But a good-looking man who takes his shirt off every now and then is just "misunderstood" and has "issuesssssssssss"

I remember that movie raja ki ayegi baraat! And he even tries to kill her but that’s all right cos they fell in love

Also Prem Chopra 🤣worry excellent reference 🤣 but I get what you mean. Also let’s not even talk about what their said mummy and daddy issues are 🤔 I am like seriously you will use that issue to justify this toxic behaviour 🤔

Instead learn something from my sassy cheelu he wasn’t white washed and he wasn’t a villain. He was grey- imperfectly perfect

@bold - yeah, and this is the other thing. If you never show the promo on TV, in India (as Colors has not done consistently the entire season), then people will forget a show is even on the air, esp on weekends when their focus is elsewhere. The promos that air in the UK won't contribute to ratings in India, and we only get to see it bc you/others post it online, so people like us who follow the show online are the only ones who see it, and the majority of us are international/watch online anyway.

@red - this frustrates me so much. If I get exhausted seeing the multiple contradictory requests from sections of the audience, I can imagine how tough it is for the writers to strike that balance. Don't get me wrong, they should be able to, it's their jobs, but you're right that no matter what they try, they can't ever get it right completely. I saw those comments on the promo too...on the one hand I get it, but on the other, people are like Vani is the only reason to watch, so they should be promoted above all else

In really uncharitable moments (😆) I feel like the section of the audience that's in it for anything other than the love story are what killed this season. IMO this season was less about the 'naagin/revenge vibes' and more about the forbidden love story between a naagin and a cheel, and it's only when they had to go back to those tropes that they messed things up (again, not excusing the writing, but under pressure they caved) and like you I really wish it had been something completely outside of this stupid franchise 😒🤔

What exactly are naagin vibes man!! Please explain that to me...a lot of complaints on insta and twitter revolve around the fact ki vibe nhi aa rhi hai. Then they start comparing it to season 1and then the whole comparison shifts from storyline to comparing actors and that frustates me to no end!!!

Sometimes i think it would have been better had they shot the show beforehand with the story that was supposed to be..and then telecasted it!! But then we would have missed on some amazing bts moments na!!🥺

The whole concept was so amazing but they destroyed it when they started listening to the viewers.

Its the way they promoted the show versus what they have made it become. I am sure I am gonna burst at some point and rant about it on the show's forum. I couldn't be ok with either. Even with Shivaay, at that point the lines were blurry. So many discussions on how his actions were not ok. SSO did redeem himself, I agree. This lead on the other hand is not just toxic... he has done unforgivable things.

I've heard the salt show is a mixture of all gul shows - ipk, Ib and even Jinn.

(Everything aside, the wedding scenes of Shivika were pictured and executed so well. The cinematography was on point!)

That whole show is a clusterf**k yr😂

It's not just the hero who is crazy..the fl is also starking mad..if I'm right (I've watched a few promo clips on insta) the fl comes back to assert her rights as his wife after he physically abuses her but since he is not ready to accept her due to the mark on her face (that he put) so she lets him get married to another woman and the fl becomes servant to him and his 2nd wife!!!🤪

Exactly. Maybe in the beginning (like the first ep or so) they tried that whole typical toxic alpha male vibe, but they very quickly let go of that and focused on establishing him so uniquely. He wasn't a goody-two-shoes, but his "villainous image" was for the most part just a façade he encouraged. Even now, as they've twisted his character (😭) he's still miles better than some of these so-called MLs, who do those toxic things in their full hosh.

LOL IDK man, what these "naagin vibes" are. I just curse myself for ever agreeing to watch a show from a franchise I have mocked and trolled mercilessly 🤣 damn you, VAni.

The comparisons make no sense. When a concept is new and fresh, then of course it has more impact on the audience. And if I have understood this correctly, they'd practically written the whole script of N1 before even shooting the show, because they had the time, so of course it was fresher and tighter in that respect. Anything long-running tends to get stale, and when you do try a new concept like in N5 to freshen it up, the existing audience decides to revolt against it because it's not exactly the same as the versions before it 🤔

@bold - yes, agreed on both counts. The story might have been tighter if they'd written and shot it before airing, but we'd have missed out on the amazing BTS bonding...😒
